    Watch "worn out"?

I have a 45-50 year old Cyma automatic in excellent cosmetic condition that stops at random intervals. I've brought it to 2 local shops for service, and both tell me that nothing can be done since the watch is "worn out". Does this make sense, or do I just need better service, e.g. IWW? I hate to throw it away, but it's not worth continual $100 transfusions.

The watchmakers you brought it to may not have access to parts for a repair hence the Worn Out. I would contact IWW but they always seem to have a long waiting list. I think RGM also does restoration work maybe give them a shout. I would recommend my watchmaker in a heartbeat if you were local to me Long Island NY. He is very good and has done some wonderful work for me. I don't know if he would do long distance work, I personaly like to see the person working on my watch (there is exceptions). So if you want here's his phone number tell him Ron Lares refered you.

It is also possible that the piviots are worn out, but I doubt that...
