So Mr Platts, could some of these end up in the Vanguard?

I'm not a betting man, but would bet that the answer NO will have >50 (%) probability.

Obviously saying this as I already have an LE '50 and am desperate for a Vanguard.....
No. I've secured some ETA2892A2 for the Vanguard, which is another reason I've never got any money. I could get it chronometer certified but that costs 90 euros now :( .

The news that the Vanguard will be 2892 is good, definitely want to be in on that one!

I'm in love with yet another Precista! :drunken:

I've got one question...how am I going to afford this with a wedding and a house move to pay for this year?!

I know this is really too far ahead to tell, but very roughly, how long would this take to get to market? (Purely so I know how much money to put aside every month!) :D

Now that's a question to which there is no real answer. When I ordered the new PRS-3 last year I was given a delivery time of 90 days. 90 days is long gone and still no sign.

Wonderful, but for me I would like to see the case and bezel metalwork more like the original in that photograph.

Eddie will this one be another full lume bezel like the last 50?

That’s a hard one. I didn’t realise that there was ever going to be a different PRS-50. To me, the only advantage of the Mk2 (at this moment) is the little Great Britain at the bottom … but I am sure the new model will please all the people who couldn’t live with the No-Radiation symbol.

How about we put one of these Mk2 on a passaround?

The subdued ‘yellow’ minute track is far better than the original bright white.

I think that was meant as a rhetorical question.

Oh, and by the way, new user here. :-)

My name is Lambert, I live in Berlin, and I have no military affiliation or pedigree whatsoever (what’s the equivalent of 4F in the UK?). Merely looking for a new watch when I got sucked in.

Not a native speaker either, so if you find any fault with my writing please advise, by all means.

    Cheers,

    Lambert

In the American classification, it’s more like “useless”, “unfit,” “washout,” or “Group W. bench” (if you’ve seen “Alice’s Restaurant”). In the event of a crisis, I’m a hostage. :-)

I sure like the watch it pays homage to. If I had to pick a nit, it seems that the Precista’s bezel is much more substantial, to a degree that I still have to get used to.

Classification 4-F (or IV-F) is not “useless,” or a “washout.” There are a number of reasons a person is not qualified for military service, injury, mental capacity, medical reasons...

From the United States Selective Service:

    * I-A: Available for military service

    * I-A-0: Conscientious objector available for noncombatant military service only

    * I-C: Member of the armed forces of the U.S., the Coast and Geodetic Survey, or the Public Health Service

    * I-D: Member of reserve component or student taking military training

    * I-0: Conscientious objector available for civilian work contributing to the maintenance of the national health, safety, or interest

    * I-S: Student deferred by statute (High School)

    * I-Y: Registrant available for military service, but qualified for military only in the event of war or national emergency

    * I-W: Conscientious objector performing civilian work contributing to the maintenance of the national health, safety, or interest

    * II-A: Registrant deferred because of civilian occupation (except agriculture or activity in study)

    * II-C: Registrant deferred because of agricultural occupation

    * II-S: Registrant deferred because of activity in study

    * III-A: Registrant with a child or children; registrant deferred by reason of extreme hardship to dependents

    * IV-A: Registrant who has completed service; sole surviving son

    * IV-B: Official deferred by law

    * IV-C: Alien

    * IV-D: Minister of religion or divinity student

    * IV-F: Registrant not qualified for any military service

    * V-A: Registrant over the age of liability for military service

    Oh no...I have been toying with my aversion to most things rolex, but am drawn to the sub no date, especially when one was on sc for 2k in the last few days. Also drawn to the 50 fathom...tried to like the 'old' 50, just dont like the coloured disc. Like the 300m apart from the second markers. Had resolved to maybe look for a sub and now have stumbled on the New 50! Love it, want one... will have to spend longer clicking on TZ-UK and thus make my wife suspicious that I have found another watch. Any indication of how many are going to be made? {were you going to use all 200 movements for this one Eddie?}

That really is very impressive. No way to get a date onto that dial without spoiling it IMHO.

Is the plan to use the same case? So the same thickness?
