Broke the blade on my SAK! Help!

I have a couple of Victorinox Swiss Army Knives, which I a) use alot, and b) really like.

Tragedy has struck, in the form of breaking the end off my Champ. I've owned this guy for a few years, and really like it!

I know there are some knife-heads(?!) on here, and wondered if one could point me at where I might be able to buy a replacement blade.

    Pic for sympathy.

You can send it to victorinox to fix or drop it into the London store.

    Takes 3 - 6 months apparently. I was told £10ish

Otherwise AliExpress is the answer to most questions

London store or via Burton McCall. Might be free or a few quid if damage caused by misuse.

I’ve sent a couple to burton McCall and only had to pay the postage.
Are you capable of replacing it yourself, if so I think I have a couple of tools that can be used as spares.

I'm assuming by that break that this model doesn't have a screwdriver..!

Try them direct, they may fix I or replace it for

My Gerber was maybe 15yo, no receipt and the blade snapped. They sent me a new one free

I would email them first to see what they say, I would not be shocked if they fixed it for free.

Its not a good look for them to have an ugly SAK knocking about

I took mine in to McCall with a broken blade and got it returned as sent due to no spares available.

    Hope it gets sorted.

The file blade was broken on my old Leatherman. Sent it back, file replaced and whole unit cleaned FOC.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

I broke a scale on a 10 year old Swiss champ about 15 years ago.
Took all the bits and bobs out and sent it to Burton McCall in Leicester.
Scales replaced and returned with a new needle, toothpick, tweezers and pen.
    Lifetime warranty I believe.

    Update from me (OP).

Printed the form, and sent my SAK to Burton Mcall, must have been early May.

Had a call maybe mid June to say they had assessed it, and it required a repair that needed paying for. £9.98 paid.

Roll on this week, and it's back!

New blade fitted and very sharp, as you'd expect. I think they have also replaced the scales (they look new). New tweezers and toothpick also added (I took those out before I sent, in case they got lost.)

    Excellent service all round.

Always good when customer service over deliver.

Happy they did good for you there. Seems great value.

They provide a good service. There would have been a fair amount of work to replace the blade, drilling out the existing pivots, disassembly, reassembly, peening new pivots. The scales would have been replaced. They are snap on and when they were prised off to make the repair, the plastic snaps on the inside of the scales would have been damaged.

Great result; always lovely when companies support repairs for reasonable costs.
