Bulkhead door from HMS Hermes now scrapped. That door has been to the Falklands.

No, not yet, that is the sole sales picture i have, it should arrive next week, many pictures then.
Thank you, please do as I find it a great idea. Incorporating it may be a challenge if the weight written on the door is anything to go by.

My three can rattle the tiles off the roof with the force they close our ‘ordinary’ wooden doors. Christ knows what damage they could do slamming that monster with their usual aplomb…

That is very cool! I used to have a HMS Hermes zippo back when I had a collection. Wish I still had it seeing that, would have sent it to you.

The lighter would have been very cool, the fitting will be a while off, first i have to design and fag packet specify the frame i think it will need to fit in an opening i haven't made yet, devise a support system and suitable foundations for the timber floor it casts a shadow across,then will come stripping, blasting priming and two pack, brass work to polish and or remake as required. Next will be lifting moving and fixing.
I have a habit of doing this to myself. Both these came up a flight of stairs to my back garden

If you're going to polish the brass locking handles either outsource it or purchase a polishing wheel and learn how to use it and the polishing compounds. I have previously posted about some of the portholes, ships lights, oil lamps and a bell that I've restored and can be seen in THIS thread. Metal polishing is as boring as hell in my humble opinion but you can get great results. Lacquer any brass you polish.

I bought a bulkhead light from Trinity Marine and use it to light my bike shed.
They sell some pretty cool stuff.

My house was built in 1936. Our doors are solid wood. They slam, believe me…

A mate of mine had a couple of genuine Winson Green HMP cell doors for sale recently. They had been replaced during a refurb.
Thats brilliant, can almost smell the diesel!
It looks great but how are you planning on hanging it? What are thinking about for hinges?

23 April 2024: We have a variety of doors awaiting processing and more coming in 2 months time.
We will list sizes within the next couple of weeks, doors shown in the images are standard examples..
They have loads and are selling em 20 at a time.
