I have a couple of old tractors that need to be sold as the field I used to plod about in will not be available to me shortly.
One is an old Massey Ferguson 135 tractor, which is operational, the other is a non runner as the engine has seized from an oil pump failure.
Any suggestions on where the best place to advertise them would be? I think they would be a bit too far off topic even for SC!
I don't fancy messing with farm auctions so I am thinking ebay might work but happy for any other options to try if anyone can think of some.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure of the age of yours gear but might be worth looking into the specialist magazines and their websites, such as
https://www.classictractormagazine.co.uk
I used to love tractors, in fact I had an obsession for them. All the walls in the house were covered in posters of tractors, the mantelpiece was covered in tractor models. Tractors tractors tractors all over the house.
But my wife, naturally, because she was sane, hated it. So she gave me the ultimatum - the tractors or her.
After much thought I decided it best to get rid of the tractors and promptly took all of the memorabilia to the dump.
When I got home I found the kitchen full of smoke, my wife had left a pan on the stove, unattended and had gone out. So I turned it off, took a massive deep breath and sucked all the smoke in with all my might. I then went outside and blew the smoke into the evening air.
Guess that makes me an ex tractor fan.
I'll get my coat

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
I had a 135 until recently, sold to a friend. I now have a couple of Kubotas. I would suggest a local agricultural group on Facebook, very popular as scrapper tractors, to do up and show or for smallholders.
Historically this has always been the place to sell vintage tractors in the U.K.

Defo worth giving them a bell
Depending on age, it might be vintage and someone may want to show it but if it’s been much loved/used, then might suit a hobby farmer as a small, do all sort of tractor. Best bet might be to try and sell locally, maybe ask a couple of local agricultural mechanics or agricultural machinery dealers.
Can you PM me how much you would be looking for the 135? And where abouts are you?
Thanks
Too late for us now, but another angle for you to consider.
I am a Trustee of a Priory, which is responsible for getting grant money and renovating the historic buildings. We have schools visit and purchased a large trailer that needed to pulled by a tractor for the sight seeing tour. I was desperate to find an old Massey to pull it as I felt it had the right look. But i couldn't find one for a good price. The fixed up ones fetch quite a lot of money.
We got an old Ford in the end, not as nice but doing the job.
The point I was making is there seems to be quite the following of older Masseys, with people looking for good examples to fix up. It's probably worth more than you are thinking.
As a viewer of the Bangers & Cash TV series, I would say that https://www.mathewsons.co.uk/ is a good bet as they regularly have tractors in the auctions shown on TV. Some people actually collect those things...:-) I think you can look up past auction hammer prices on the site.

When we first moved to North Norfolk I was shocked/amused to see vintage tractors driven through our village on hot sunny days as if they were coveted sports cars. More grandad racers than boy racers, often with a bemused looking wife or kids on a trailer. Still makes me chuckle but many look factory fresh, obviously they have their fans!
Have a look for Massey parts suppliers or dealership workshops.
I was in the Hexham Carrs Billington country store and they had an owners vintage tractor in the workshop which was in concourse condition.
The tractor mechanics will know where the potential buyers and tractor show enthusiasts are in your area.

Actually, back in the 70's I worked for a tractor manufacturer and John Deere was the competitor we aspired to beat. Took us a while, but we got there. Sadly, following a merger with another competitor, the company moved its manufacturing facility to France.
The huge site, (around a mile long), sat empty for many years but is now being developed as a housing estate.

French ‘striking’ farmers?
Those 135 tractors make good money looking at auctions and depending on year and condition. Who would have guessed.
What is the tractor that Clarkson’s g/f has? Is that one?
Car and Classic seems to have a lot of old tractors, and they seem to sell, both classified and auction. Lots of upper end classic car types who have land seem to think it's cool to have an old tractor about the place (and of course they're right!).
