My daughter is posing the dogs.

I can’t wait till our dog arrives this summer! Hope everything goes well.
We had an unexpected hamper from the company from whom me buy our dog food; someone seems to be quite happy about it.
He’s also worked out which wardrobe we’re hiding his Christmas presents in.
Our lovely girl Elsie is 6 today
Lots of ball throwing on this morning's walk for her. She loves that.

Still the best thread in the G&D.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Great stuff. It's good that you've started with the commands so early in the dog's life.
A family about 1 km away where we live has a dog that was 'deaf' for everything. He had his own agenda so to speak. But the couple who owns the dogs hasn't given up. Respect for them. They searched and found a good dog trainer and now, 6 months later, the dog is well-behaving, I would say perfectly well-behaving. She walks the dog with this contraption. It's a dog for hunting; I think the English name is 'stabyhoun', with lots of energy.
There are other solutions with a strong spring that absorbs shocks, but as one dog trainer noticed: the fur of dogs with long hair can be caught between the spring's windings. This one here works with a bungee cord and a velcro strap that will come undone when needed. Personally, I don't use this. I walk my dog the old-fashioned way. Rottweilers have a lot of energy, but long-distance running is not their 'forté'.
This kind of 'cycling the dog'-thins is pretty common here.

Not ours, but a new addition to some friends. 6 month old George.
He’s got a lovely temperament.
Thanks @thieuster for the tips, currently looking for training classes to reinforce what she has already learnt. Eventually as she matures then i would like her to accompany me / family on some long hill walks / runs. She has a good nature and is bright, certainly easier to train than the dogs we had growing up!
You're welcome. Here's a link: https://www.hondenshop.nl/product/honden-fietsstang/ It is in Dutch, but I'm always willing to help you ordering one! I'll PM you the webpage's text why Edwin (the site's owner has chosen this model)

I really need a Dave to go with my Rottweiler! Colour-coordinated. My wife veto'd my plan. A 'Dave' as the vocal alarm bell and the Rottweiler to take care of business.
While writing this... My rottweiler fractured the outside toe of his left-front paw. I noticed him limping. A short trip to the vet + and x-ray showed a minor fracture. Probably as a result of running across a frozen, uneven field. Not much we can do (like humans). It will heal. A bunch of painkiller pills will help him for a few days. And a strict 'on leash' regime for 10 days. The latter being the biggest hurdle for my used-to-free-roaming Rotti. I walk my dog on my own grounds now.
Painkillers and Rottweilers... not a good combo. They don't feel pain in the first place. 'Shake it off' is their breed's motto. The level of 'I don't feel a thing' is now raised.
Here's something to throw into the mix: wolves. More and more sightings of wolves close to our home. Last year I spotted one in the field across my house. A 'lone wolf' (I always wanted to write that!) but now there are two, working as a pair. No-one has given me an answer how to avoid an encounter. My biggest chance of keeping clear of wolves in the dark, are the donkeys on the land next to us. Donkeys originate from areas where wolves live as well. Donkeys are known for their 'hell of a noise' when they spot a wolf. As long as these two donkeys are quiet...
Jasper guarding the boat (he has a love- hate relationship going on with it, hates the vibrations from the engines through the cockpit sole but doesn’t want to be left behind). He loves it when we’ve moored up

Thanks, he’s certainly loveable, well most of the time anyway!

Dave’s are certainly vocal, I could see one making a good security team with your Rottweiler. Maybe suggest to your wife a short legged Doberman? Very, very similar to a Dachshund, (identical in fact), well that’s how my wife sold it to me anyway! Hope your boy heals quickly, you need him to save you from the wolves!
