    Seiko 62MAS 1966.....Thoughts.

    Hi All Knowledgeable Seiko WIS.

Just seen this 1966 62MAS for sale.Just had a full service & by a chap most might know Richard Askham.
Apart from the yobokies insert all original.
Im tempted having had a few before they went mental re price!.
But with a Yobokues insert I guess it will affect pricing somewhat.
Is this a fair price considering this or way out and overpriced.

    Cheers for any input.

    Paul

Lume kills the watch for me. It’s worth 2k at best.

The fresh insert and patina’d watch just look wrong.

I definitely see 62MAS prices dropping big time recently.

Seiko_rey on IG was selling one recently that looked nicer than this one. Not sure what the price was though.

Great design but that looks knackered, I understand it’s a 57 yo watch but I’d spend the money on one of the reissues.

Tantakian on IG is selling a decent looking one for £2400 ish I think. He is in Canada but I’ve bought from him in the past and had no issues.

As has already been said - that is a big price for not a great example.

The font on that replacement insert looks nothing like the original.
Lume is not in great ahape.
Caseback worn clean - often seen on the small crown 6217-8000, but this is a big crown.
Case looks pretty scratched up & missing original brushing.
Not even sure if the date wheel is original?

You should be able to pick up a much better original example for that sort of money.

The pair that I'm lucky enough to own :-

I am looking about for a good example of a Seiko 6105-8000 and they seem to be difficult to get hold of in good condition too. Most examples have rough lume and battered cases . Good luck with your search :)
