I think you might be better waiting and going to Rolex direct unless you are happy to pay what dealers are asking:

I've just picked up 16710 with a coke bezel, which I do like but I've always preferred the pepsi. I called St James RSC yesterday and they said I could pop in and swap it. I'm not going to be in London for a while, does anyone know if my local AD can do the swap?

Good main agents can order an insert if they don’t have one in stock and then fit it on site. Expect the cost to be under £100. The part itself is about £50 and has so far been considered a “consumable.”

St James made it out that the only way it would happen is if I went directly to them.

They may not all do it, but find a competent independent main agent* and they can very happily supply and fit a bezel insert. It's not a case-invasive procedure and there should be no need for a service. I believe that Rolex St. James will also do it while you wait, but check first as I'm not paying for your helicopter ride :-)

Frustrating, but "all main agents are not the same." This really shouldn't be a great problem, if you can find the right one nearest you.
Helicopter - lovely word derived from ancient Greek and literally "sun-chopper" from helios / koptein.
I will keep looking

Had exactly the same when wanting to do as your trying.
Called into the Ilkley and the Leeds AD and made calls to various others.
No was the reply I got sadly.

What if you say the bezel broke and is off the watch ? ….
Leeds have just said they will do it but I'm also waiting on Bill Rice.

I might be going to RSC in the not too distant future, if so I’m happy to meet up if not too far away ( and it’s convenient for you )to take it for you ?
Do they still keep the original bezel insert?
Take it to St.James and they will let you keep the original.
When was that as I think it’s more like £125 now
*Which is still a no brainier

When I purchased my T<25 16710 it came with all three inserts, coke fitted and the coke was always my preferred prior to purchasing.
A week later I popped the black in, a bit meh, and a week later the Pepsi went in and there it has stayed for 8 years.
The most stunning watch with the perfect insert.
Enjoy

It’s only the same as some motor parts, they’ll sell you a bezel insert for (when I bought one but apparently much higher now) £34 on an exchange basis or £55 on a non exchange basis.
If the headline price was £55 but they gave you £21 back for your old one, it wouldn’t sound so bad.
You do get a nice little Rolex tin to keep it in though.
Edit : it is still absolutely ridiculous pricing for a small ring of aluminium but nothing compared to the even more crazy prices faded bezel inserts sell for!

Just got off the phone and it’s approximately £140 including the old one returned, they now charge a £70 fitting fee … FFS
For the same look without the Rolex rip off!,buy a pepsi & coke insert from cousins.
I did for my 16700 & looked just as good as the expensive Rolex inserts.
Fitted myself in minutes and saved the black insert.
But some on here have deep pockets and believe the Rolex ones are made from unicorn horn and hand crafted by virgin mermaids.
What do I know, maybe they are hence that price!.
