Very nice, please clean the dried Brasso out of the Roman numerals, it irks me!!
I wasn't going to bother this morning. It was pitch black at 6.30am, but I thought why not ? Have a coffee and stop looking like the living dead and get out there. I'm glad I did.
Found this lovely French striking clock with an unusual black enamel dial. It had no pendulum or bell, so I got busy rummaging through my bits and pieces and found both. Both mainsprings are ok. Gave it an oiling with my turret clock oil and set it up. It's now ticking away very quietly. Could do with a polish, but as I may need to adjust the pendulum length, that can wait.
I also found six tiny little pairs of pliers, ideal for watchmaking and a B+D circular saw for cutting the winter fuel.
Last car boot is tomorrow morning.

Very nice,it’s a bonus you have the skills to repair and make good.
I will indeed, with pointed pegwood.

I guess. Lucky the mainsprings are ok otherwise it would be a time consuming job.

I can't make it out clearly, but that looks like a Vincenti stamp on the movement (the circular mark below the bell). A nice looking clock. Probably dates to around 1875 in date, give or take 10 years or so.
It is indeed JL. And dated 1855. And earlier than we thought.
Unfortunately the bell I found is a bit dull. I will have to buy one.

You should do your best ever top 10 finds!
Looks nice though
That's a brilliant idea Rodder,
I will do that over the autumn.
*Clock has lost 15 minutes since 2.30pm today. Pendulum is too long.

Virtually nothing worth buying this morning at the last car boot until spring, but I did find these three charming little hand made wooden cars. About 5 inches long:
