I mentioned to my manufacturer that to mark 25 years of selling watches on the internet I wanted to make a Silver Jubilee edition of the Everest with aventurine dial. I think he misunderstood.

I think he's done very well, a jubilee looks great on that!
Its a winner for me Eddie, looks stunning and thats before the sunlight hits the dial.
Steve
What kind of jubilee bracelet are you considering? The half-circle or the oblong links?
I can go with either.
oblong
half circles

Any chance of releasing an unriveted oyster type bracelet, tapered from 20 to 16mm?
Looks pretty good, though.

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
That does look rather special.
As a pensioner i feel obliged to use a colloquialism of the youth today........OMG, Mr Platts is on a roll
When is the anniversary, Eddie - November 2021?
I think the darker Everest dials suit the capitalised SMITHS logo better ... and I think it looks too busy with the De Luxe under the boobies if you're dead set on that logo.
Going to be a stunning watch either way, albeit not one I would probably buy.
Looks amazing.
I’m going great guns to get my first Smiths at the next opening (36mm Everest) but this looks really beautiful too.
Design is always subjective but I do love the 'Smiths Du Luxe'; the curves work brilliantly well with the minute markers.

Looks amazing but I think I'll hold out for the Golden Jubilee edition.

1. Eddie please tell me youre gauging our interest in a stardust dial Everest, because that looks absolutely gorgeous
2. Really loving the "De Luxe" underneath the Smiths logo and the "GREAT BRITAIN" staying at the 6 o'clock position. Finally perfect.
Thought I'd post the proposed Silver Jubilee edition on a black background...
I love that. It's 36mm isn't it?
Better get to losing weight so it doesn't look silly on my massive wrist.
Eddie
Will this be a limited addition? I think it looks amazing with that dial. I would like to see one with the “linen” to. Another sure fire hit!
36mm or 40mm or both and any plans to take advance orders on this one ?
I do like the look of this one - 36mm or 38mm!
Interested here also as to size wise.
You are reading it wrong. This is a 500 one-off, never to be repeated order, whereas the others are batches of 300, a number Eddie feels comfortable working with.
I don't know how large Eddie's fan base is... so I do hope that 500 is a good number to cover all the bases. Otherwise, there will be war.
No, I am not reading it wrong at all. Far from it.
It is ironic that this LE is being produced in a greater single number batch than the "standard production" runs.
It is in no way a criticism, and I fully understand that it will be a "never to be repeated" LE.
But the irony remains.
Dave
There is no irony. 300 is the minimum order but it doesn't mean there will only be 300, if it proves popular then I'll repeat the order as I have done 3 times with the 36mm Everest and twice with the Expedition. The Silver Jubilee model will be available once only so 500 seemed a decent number for a limited edition.

You can have it your way, by all means, but I still see irony in planning an LE of 500 units when every watch in the range is produced in batches of 300.
It may just be me, but I see irony there.
As I said before, it is not a criticism, nor am I poking fun.
So there is no need to try and keep slapping me down.
Seconded. 38 x 47 mm is a lovely size, I'm wearing one of the Baltic HMS 001 3 handers, with these dimensions on a slightly over 8 inch wrist, it doesn't look small and definitely still feels vintage. I think an Everest this size, aventurine dial could work an absolute treat for a very wide audience.

As the 36mm out-sells the 40mm 4:1, and there's a 4mm difference in case size, surely the mathematical solution would be enlarged the case 1mm, to 37mm
In all seriousness, the 36mm is the most popular and as the machining is in place for that model, there seems no point incurring the expense of a new design when the 36mm works so well.
Also, Tudor and Rolex are all moving towards 36mm.

More importantly the 1016 was 36mm
The more I think about it the less I'd want an aventurine dial. It moves the watch a little too far away from its inspiration. I like the overall idea of a special edition, with silver script, maybe an upgraded movement, coronet signed crown and maybe even a jubilee bracelet or an oyster with a better clasp.
