    Liverpool parking

Got a gig at the Liverpool Phil. on Friday 1st.

Can anyone local suggest the best secure parking?

Is it too far from city centre parking?

    Cheers

    B

P.S. if it is an evening gig then fill ups are likely I guess -although we tend to use taxis from the wirral.

If it’s an evening gig park at Blackburn House. It’s attended parking about 200 yards from the Phil. Opposite the Quarter restaurant. Don’t believe all the bullshit about cars being broken into in the city centre. It’s as safe as anywhere else. I’m a Manc who has lived here for 18 years. Never had a problem parking in the city centre.

It depends on when you get there. There's plenty of on street parking if you're there early and the area's pretty safe (Georgian Quarter). Again, if you're early there's a simple open air car park off the street to the right of the theatre that is used by staff/orchestra but spaces are limited.

If you really wanted a manned, covered car park there are two Q Parks within a reasonable 15-20 min walk (although all uphill!) - John Lewis and Hanover Street - the latter is nearer.

    Who are you seeing?

This ^^ we parked there for the Ministry of Sound event a few months back. Just be aware the gates shut promptly at either 22:30 or 23:00. Or if you can get to either Hope Street or Hardman Street for just after 18:00 you can try and find a free space on street.

The Phil' and surrounding area is quite an upmarket area these days, though the more you shuffle down Hardman Street the more livelier it gets. We ate at the Art School last weekend and and parked just by the Everyman.

Road parking all round the Phil, you'll have no issues with your car it's been a long time since the 80s radio smash and grabs !

Blackburn House is a good call. If you are parking on a road near the Phil before 6pm, just be aware that a lot of this is Resident permit only between 8am - 6pm and the traffic wardens are very active around here!
