A point well made. I am sure some are guilty of getting caught up in the trappings of marketing, peer pressure, competition, profit, status, etc. with top-bracket watches that they feel they should have or feel they truly want - where there is shackle-free enjoyment at the bottom-end of the price bracket. That said, none of the watches on display in your photos do anything for me, but each to their own.
Enjoy your holiday, looks delightful.
Great watch that Smiths Military, everyday practicality, military cred and simple understated elegance. Minus the product placement guff, I could imagine it’s the sort of watch James Bond would wear.

For those getting too stressed out over expensive/hard to source watches/ risk of theft etc, there is a no watch life as well. To each their won.
Nothing wrong with any of your watches. Good dependable watches that can be fun to wear.
Enjoy your holiday and watches.
I choose the watches I wanted to wear on my travels,it’s pure coincidence they are both timefactors price didn’t come into it.
At home I leave my watches downstairs, travelling they are on the nightstand and I can be clumsy at times hence the COSC 18,I like a simple hand wind the Smiths is delightfully old school to me.
I am at a terrific Portuguese restaurant on the edge of town with a real character of a manager,he used to run the Bear in Woodstock he tells me,his English is better than mine.
I am wearing my Smiths military my IWC would also suit but I didn’t bring it in case I lost/damaged it
I’m loving the watch travelogue. Steak and chips wins hands down but the brekkie shot is very tempting

All out of my price range.
The Portuguese contradiction, some of the nicest, friendly, helpful, genuine people I’ve ever met out of a car.
In a car homocidal maniacs with a death wish trying to kill me,if it wasn’t for the former I would have left on the first day back to Spain they had warned me of the driving.
I usually lose weight on a road trip, but these 10 euro menus are killing me.
one course is enough for a small family, each time I go out for a light snack I meet someone friendly who persuades me to try the menu.
What did impress me today though was the olive trees and grape vines neatly planted on on precipice like slopes, hard workers eking a living from what looks to me like barren land I was impressed.
I paid my respects to the Portuguese soldiers of WW1 and Africa as I do everywhere.
I was out until 7am so I needed that coffee badly and the ice cream which where both delicious by the way.
It was muggy today so chose the lighter watch with a NATO strap worn loose.
The poster made me laugh.

OP:
This Casio started it all for me. I was 6-7 years old and my cousin had this. I was green with envy. That was in the eighties. Amazing how little Casio basic design has actually changed.
The last breakfast in Catalonia good coffee and a pastry as light as a feather.
I am already thinking of which watch to wear on my return.
It should be my IWC pilot but I think it will be my Sinn 103
closest capital one atm
The Smiths looks great, which size is it?
