It's a matter of personal taste -- and I'm afraid it's not to my taste at all.
However, it's your money, and your wrist -- if you like it, can afford it, and will wear it, go for it and enjoy!
a year ago I spotted a watch that I liked. It ended up in the past three sales and it’s now looking like I can achieve around 45-50% discount on it (the manager emailed me earlier and said they’d “work some magic”. This is wayyyy cheaper than anywhere else and although ex-display, it would be polished to new if I’d require it.
The watch probably won’t appeal to a lot on here, as it’s a solid Sedna gold Seamaster 300 with full Sedna bracelet.
At this sort of discount from the RRP of £22,800, would you go for it?

I can't help thinking it will look totally jarg in a few years, like a Michael Kors. Definitely an acquired taste.
If you plan to keep it (yeah..) why not, otherwise if you do shift it on I would expect you to face heavy depreciation even with a low price of entry so if the money isnt a problem go for it if its to your taste.

Not for me.
Thanks, sometimes it’s good to hear that voice of reason.
I think the fact that you ask is the give-away here. If you were confident, other opinions wouldn't matter.
But two points occur. First, do gold Omega's make much sense? They are not expensive watches. And, secondly, isn't it a touch 'bling'?
Still, whatever works for you......just don't buy it because it's 'cheap'. They can't sell it. Sorry if that sounds brutal.
Boss watch, but basically money down the drain
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
No , uncomfortable watch too .
That's a tempting discount, but I can't quite work out what to make of the watch, and I suspect you can't either.
Yeah it’s all the discount that’s the temptation I guess. I do like the watch, would probably forget the bracelet and go with an omega brown leather NATO anyway so it brings it down a notch, but may as well go for the bracelet as this no doubt a several thousand pound option anyhow.
Not my taste, but go for it if you like it, I guess!
For that kind of money you could buy a used AP RO ultra thin with the blue dial, which would be a much better long term keeper and investment.
When I see a watch like this I wonder what it would look like resting on a turd and whether it would make it look more attractive or not.
"A man of little significance"
No.
Id rather spend more and get better or spend less and get steel.
Its just a bit no-mans-land.
Nope from me!
I like gold watches, but not gold divers on gold bracelets. Bimetal divers work OK for me but the full-cream gold doesn’t.
If you like it, and you’d keep it long- term, buy it, but if you’re not sure I wouldn’t. It would fit nicely in a collection as an occassional wearer, it’ll have rarity value in the future but that doesn’t necessarily translate into monetary value!
The AD’s desperate to sell it too......that’s got to tell you something!

Not sure about it on the bracelet but think it would look fantastic on a black strap.
But then that's a lot of money to pay if you are the going to take the bracelet off.
Buy it, put it in a safe until your 58th birthday, wear it solid for two years, then sell it for scrap.
The first of those steps is no less daft than the rest
I rather like it, but not at £22k.
Offer him £5k he can always say no.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

Wayne I have a free voucher for Spec Savers which you obviously need.

Nice watch in steel but not to my taste in gold, but if it's your thing and you have the cash then hammer the dealer and see what you can get.
If I had £10k+ to spend on a watch I would be looking at vintage, not just because they tend to rise in price but more the fact I much prefer older watches..
In these kinds of situations I always try and remind myself that the number that really matters is how much you eventually spend, not how much you save.
If you are happy to spend upwards of £12k on it then go for it.

Could possibly be financial suicide but I do like it.
I'm a big fan of Sedna/Everose etc but that one is overkill I think.
They seem to work better with a leather/rubber strap to balance things out
definitely not ... you would have the worst buyer's remorse ever before the credit card was swiped
& then when you want to move it on you might get £5k for it
to me it is one of those watches that definitely doesn't make the transition from steel to gold. Actually very few do - but maybe that is a topic for a thread on it's own
Yuk. Looks like a copper watch. Oh, and it’s only cheap if you were going to buy it at full price in the first place!
No , you buy and sell some stunning stuff as well as eclectic at times but not this
Doesn't get much more vulgar than a solid gold divers watch.
I like it 👍
I think it would look nice on black rubber, but it's a bit too much on the full bracelet as well.
Three observations.
1. If you would be willing to buy it at full price, then it's cheap. It seems you would not.
2. It would be a useful watch to wear if you wanted to be mugged. I believe you do not.
3. They say you can't polish a turd. It seems you can.
Not for me. The fact they're willing to offer such a huge discount as well...
It’s an acquired taste!....
But if it’s a taste you have acquired, then it seems a decent opportunity to buy the watch new if you really want it.
My direct answer to your question though, would be no, I wouldn’t. Doesn’t appeal to me.
Having the steel version. It's one of my favourites and personally I like it more than a submariner. But not in sedna gold. Does nothing for me. Infact makes it look like my sister's Marc Jacobs watch. Sorry.
I love RG watches, already own a RG DD40 and I’m sorely tempted to add the new RG GMT to my collection.
But even at a 50% discount that one doesn’t float my boat, sorry mate.
If you can get a deal on the platinum on platinum version (a cool 44k!) then that might be worth a look. As others have said its all personal taste but even at a discounted price offered that seems rich to me and looks like an expensive Micheal Korrs. The bi-metals look nicer to me as does the platinum on leather but I've just looked at the price and thats 28k as well! Blimey some of these omegas are mental money now. your choice at the end of the but even as an investment piece are these watches likely to up in value?
Thanks for all the responses. You’ve definitely all put me on the right track with this one... not going ahead.
At £10-11k they are likely not at loss yet, £6k if you really like it, if it’s just because it’s cheep try a bottle of White Lightening ;-)
