    PRS 14 help needed

I'm looking to trade my PRS 14 in a deal on sales corner, dose anyone know what is a fair value for a good conditioned, Head only example?. I just want to make sure all is fair for both parties.

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

I've had a couple of these and for a good one £300 to £350 tops is fair. The issue with these is that there can be problems with the crown and stem, it can be weak and a bit wobbly. The watch was head only with fixed bars and a NATO strap.

There is strong demand for this watch and if no issues should sell in a heartbeat. Trade is more tricky as it requires two like minded people. Might be better to get the cash and then look for what you want.

IIRC there was a yellow dial version in the Sales corner over on the CWL Forum last year. One of the forum stalwarts was the seller.

    Might be worth checking out.

That was a different watch and the yellow was one of 4 different colour limited editions. PRS3 or 4 as I recall. I don't think the PRS14 was done in any other colour

Thank you for your replies so far gentleman.

Anyone else thinking on the same lines on its value?

    Many thanks.

These don’t come up often, so that would be a factor. Around the £300 mark seems reasonable to me. I have owned a couple of these over the years, I expect you will be inundated with trade offers.

    Got it wrong.

I was thinking of the PRS3 which looks similar but with a 42mm case and it doesn't have the (what looks to be) domed acrylic crystal of the PRS14.

    Back to the drawing board.

If I was a betting man I would guess that you have already received PMs offering to buy or asking what you want to trade for.

Sorry, no - I remember changing a strap. Apologies.

I think what I meant was that it didn't come with any kind of bracelet etc.

I paid £325 for a nice one back in April last year.

I agree, would have struggled to get this strap on with fixed bars...! If I remember rightly the watch was sold with this rally strap?

As for pricing, I'd say £350-375 is a good shout if the watch is in decent condition. They rarely come up for sale now, and you can factor that into a price too.

Cracking watches, the original fit rally strap is still available from Eddie and it is a great match and very comfortable
(In fact it is one of my favourite straps)

I think £300 is fair if in good condition

The PRS-14 pairs very well indeed with a black Hirsch Lucca.
Yes, the crown is fiddly but on the wrist the above combo looks easily like £1K.
I recall reading of someone who had their PRS-14 sent to Fricker for a crown alteration.
Several years ago the crystal on mine developed a couple of cracks. One day I will probably get my spare crystal fitted.
Should Eddie ever revise and reissue this watch, I would be all over it.
