Of the full set of the "Dirty Dozen", 5 of them come in at sub 36mm. Here's another one of them: JLC WWW.

Having given up taking other folks's watch jobs on to concentrate on my own stuff I can get my watches into the condition I like them to be. Still some way to go, but I`m getting there......and what's more I`m actually enjoying it again!

Here's a recently restored 1947 18ct Rose Gold Omega bumper automatic, superb watch but I've yet to wear it. Original plan was to sell it, it's been in my projects drawer for a few years and I finally got around to it late last year. The hands aren`t original and the dial's refinished, but it looks stunning on the wrist. Just needs a nicer strap.

It's 34mm but looks bigger on my 6.75" square wrist.

Here's another, a 1951 Omega I`ve owned since 1998. Dial has been refinished many years ago. Hands are new genuine Omega NOS items. The calendar's useless because it's too small to read and it takes ages to reset!

Here's one of my all-time favourites, a 1969 Omega cal 752 that measures around 36.5mm. Case ref is 168.023 or 166.032 for a date only version. Ideal watch for someone who wants vintage with a bit of wrist presence. I`ve owned this for many years but gave it a total restoration a couple of years back. Original (rare) bracelet's awaiting refinish too.

Here's a late 60s Dynamic, cal 565, bought as NOS in 2003/4. Doesn`t get much wear, but I like it too much to sell. Around 36mm across the shorter diameter so I guess it qualifies.

Here's one from ca 1972, bought this many years ago, recently gave it the full treatment (refinish, service etc). Sunburst finish looks superb now it's been refinished. My only hand-winder.

Stunning Omegas. Great work on those.

Thank you , I do enjoy the "bonhomie" that prevails on this forum , most of the time from helpful enthusiasts .
Enjoy the passion & stimulation of this infuriating but harmless hobby ( compared to some ).

I like that a lot, has a touch of VC Overseas ‘looks’ particularly the shape of lug ends and the bezel shape.

A couple or so years ago, I had a few 33-35mm watches, all vintage, manual wind and very slim: Poljot, Glashutte GUB, Sekonda, Wostok, Luch, Seiko. They've all gone now, and the only two small watches I've left are this 34mm early sixties Longines

and this 30mm early twenties cushion case.

Both have Dennison made cases, both get regularly worn

Great looking longines, I was handed down my great grandads one and it is very similar, really like your choice in strap. If you don’t mind me asking is the buckle original to the watch? 9ct Gold or gold plated? Asking as mines was missing and would like to try get the watch to authentic as possible. Cheers

I've got the original strap sitting in the original box somewhere, so I'll take a couple of photos for you. (At the moment it's simply the buckle that came with the Hirsch Lizard that the previous owner put on it)

Of course I can't be sure it was the original 1963 strap, but it is a genuine Longines crocodile strap for long ago

28.5mm, Technos from the 1940's. Has an unusual screw on back, instead of the usual screw in type. It got damaged when I was wearing it and caught the Crystal on the newel post upstairs, scraping some numbers off.
Lovely ETA movement with "Cote de Geneve" stripes.

No problem :) Do we think "Plaque Or" on the underside is French for gold plating? The case of the watch itself is English made 9ct

Another 36mm arrived today so an updated shot of my sub 38mm collection

Its amazing how much difference the case, bezel and dial design makes to how big these wear

From left to right sizes are 36mm, 36mm, 35mm, 35mm

The 35mm Timex seems bigger than the 36mm ones!

How about this at 35mm? As Ian says, the design makes all the difference - I thought this was much bigger.

Edit: I just realised it looks a bit like that Eterna posted earlier.

That’s very interesting, I’ve never noticed that before where one piece of a crocodile or alligator strap is flank and the other piece is full cut. Really looks good.

I researched this myself a little while ago and I think that is right. Often with a 10 or 20 to indicate how many microns thick the plating is.

    Around 30mm:

Hirco Sport, Tudor Oyster and Rolex Oyster Royal - all from 1940s.

Here is another, btw I wouldn’t call 36mm little, I’d call that average. 36mm has to be the standard size for a watch which is why so many are that size.

    1964 Heuer Carrera Re-edition from 1999

Totally agree. Anything more than 36mm feels uncomfortable and looks too big IMHO even on my seven and a quarter inch wrist. That's one lovely chronograph to. Love the blue seconds.

    Very nice mate.
Just thinking how much alike this is to yours.
    36mm. From 1979.

Sorry about the bad pic, still shaky from my fall and subsequent imbibing yesterday...
