I've got the 535d version which has been superb, especially for towing my home on wheels.

Not just that. I have a 1 series - not M sport or a 140i and it’s not a comfortable car at all. Far too compromised and uncomfortable. I hate it. Best part about it is the auto gear box. If it was on the company car list I would have got an A3 or bigger.

Some seriously nice cars on here. So here goes mine...

Much like my watch collection, my car collection is also a random mix!

    My "beaters"
    Saab 9-3 V6 Aero Cabriolet
    Audi Cabriolet V6
    Volvo XC90 D5

My "grail", only used in nice weather with obligatory posing shot in the Peak District
    Aston Martin DB9 6.0 V12

    My "project"
    An under-construction MEV Rocket

And what it will (hopefully) look like when finished:

I'll save you from sharing a picture of the Mrs' Honda CRV, although that is lovely too!

Love the fact that someone can casually drop a Carrera GT into this thread

A bunch of fooking posers the lot of ye

Where’s all the Astras, Primeras and Focus’s? Or is everybody in dilemma over whether to take the Landy or Quattraporte on the school run.

I’m going to photo the wife’s Agila tomorrow and stick that pic up again.

    Is that north-Norfolk?
    Old Hunstanton maybe?

My 57 reg A4 Avant has now done 160k miles and hasn't missed a beat! I have had it from new, quite fancy changing it, but it just doesn't ever put a foot wrong.

That's almost as good as this.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BaT3Ff5lyAQ/

    A McLaren F1 that's NEVER been driven.

Some more photos of the 'Popemobile' as she's 17 years old and just flew through her MOT today. It's been in the wider family since new, and hopefully has more life left in her despite the missus trying to kill her off this week; http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...-Off-Insurance

The kids were always fond of wind down the windows races. The observant people will spot it has electrically adjustable door mirrors!

Anyone under 25 has no idea what this is (apologies for the gratuitous but obligatory Rolex shot). My Suede album got stuck in there over 10 year ago, and it's still in there.

The car and the watch just work so well together

No it's in Herne Bay. I hope it lasts as well as yours does. Are you on the long life services every 2 years or normal annual. This one has been on long life but I'm not convinced..

160k miles on most modern cars (if serviced regularly) is very do-able. My 2006 A6 was over 200k miles before I parted with it as a fully working car. My XC90 has done 250k miles... I plan to get it to 500k miles before parting with it.

Make sure you replace the aux belt and tensioner every 54k miles if you want to achieve that.

Just for giggles I uploaded the Performance Exhaust in action. It's a dealer fit option so nothing to boy racer, but it does sound rather fruity ;)

Yep, long-life servicing from the supplying main dealer and I wouldn't do anything else to be honest.

The only parts the car has ever needed in the 10 years I have owned it (other than brakes and tyres) are a replacement EGR valve and a rear suspension spring. It is a truly brilliant all-round bullet-proof car.

I agree. I am sure mine will get to 200k no problem at all and that is my target before I change it.

Collected 2 cars this weekend. Less exciting was a 5mth old 2.0 TDI Octavia se tech estate for new job motorway miles and bike duties. More exciting was taking my eldest to collect his first car, a nice example of a 7yr old 1.4tdci fiesta in titanium spec so all the nice toys. Cost c20% of its new price and whilst not the Polo I suggested it fits him better and seems a nice car for the money. After a service and 2 new tyres I'm hoping it'll prove reliable for commuting over the next couple of years.

Reminded me that it's not just about the car but what it means to you personally

Definitely nicer than my first car - Fiesta's are pretty good for reliability and safety. I am not looking forward to my kids needing their first cars... My son has already been eyeing up the DB9 - he's only 5, but in 12 years time he's got no hope!

Had this a year now & it’s hardly been driven, which seems a bit of a waste. Off for its 1st annual service today & will give it a good run out after that

I can't recommend this guy (Chris) highly enough. He has premises in Kent but can come to you in London, no problem (he comes all the way to the Midlands for my cars!)

    https://www.enumero.co.uk/

He is reasonably priced without compromising on quality, but can tailor to your needs. I tend to go for a quick safe wash'n'wax on the dailies, but treat the DB9 to something a little better!

Please excuse the really un-glamorous / messy garage... but shows the shine

Also, this picture was taken with a crappy phone, and a week or so after the job was done... after a few drives!

It was done on my drive just and cost me 4 or 5 hrs of my time and 1/3 of an Autoglym clay bar kit, a bit of autoglym super resin polish and some gold gloss and some elbow grease.

Had a bit of a downsize the Discovery 4 has gone and replaced it with this 5 series 2.0d

What I do miss is the Air Suspension on the Disco

What I do not miss is the regular trips to the fuel station

Just over a couple of years on and I'm moving out of this (there were pics but Photobucket nuked them). If anyone is thinking of a 5 series Activehybrid I would recommend it, especially given the stonking deals on them used now. It's quick (c. 350BHP and sub 6s 0-60), quiet, comfortable and has a lot of toys.

Over 55,000 miles I've averaged just over 30mpg (petrol 3.0 turbo most of the time with electric support) and gone through two sets of tyres. A very nice thing.

I'm replacing it with something a bit bigger, a few more toys and a bit quicker (and four wheel drive) - an Audi S8. I pick it up in a couple of weeks, should be fun...

The other half's new car arrived at the dealership yesterday and where it'll sit until March as she wants an 18 reg. It's still on transport blocks at the moment hence the huge gap between the tyre and the arch.

I saw your post on Audi sport net too and thought you must be a patient man waiting 2 and a half months to drive it.
The Riviera Blue looks lovely. When did you place your order?
I have one ordered in Nogaro Blue which I should have for March.Still unsure about forking out the cash for a special colour but it does look unique in that blue.

Placed the order on the 7th July and Exclusive paint adds circa 4 weeks to the build time. The special paint isn’t particularly cheap but thought it was worthwhile as we went to town on options on this car.

Until September I was driving a lotus Evora s sports racer. Took it to the ring, many weekend trips and had a lot of fun with it. Worked perfectly with my wife and toddler. Sadly sold in preparation to buy a house next year. Once I know the damage a house will do to my bank I plan a e92 dct conpetntion pack purchase.

    Some very nice cars posted.

The Evora will drive and ride much better than the M3 - I drove both of them within a week of each other and the Evora was in a different league!

The Evora is a special car and drove better than the Lexus isf it replaced. Did the m3 you drove have the edc suspension? Another Evora isn’t an option as my daughter is now too big for the back.
