No date all the way
I need a date but wish more watches put them at the 6 o' clock position to keep the symmetry.

Here are the three date-free watches I still have. Obviously, their not having date windows was an essential part of my choosing them, but I'm not sure whether other people would think they would look just as good with a nice, suitably-framed, thoughtfully-placed date window?
O do like a simple no date watch...
... But I seem to miss having a date, when switching from my Boctok to the the above smiths! Also a date complication makes your watch look ever so slightly different every day!

I only wore a date watch for 5 years and I thought it was a dealbreaker for me but since having one without I don't miss it.
I check my phone for the date now.
Careful, that's a slippery slope. Next you will be checking your phone for the time! What a thought. 😁

Call me crazy but I ve used the Submariner WITH the cyclops over the years, without it it just looks like something is missing for me !!
Did someone ask for some no-date love?
In symmetry or without...for those times where a date would just get in the way. :-)

Date window isn't necessary for daily life.
I find a date window useful as I often forget.
This could be because my job involves little routine and I tend to shut off from the outside world inbetween. No daily paper, news, tv etc.
Or it could be because i'm a bit simple.
Either way I often glance down at the date window to confirm something that I am unsure of.
Unfortunately at 58 my eyes just see a blurred watch face!,I can't read the date!.And because I only wear glasses to read or go on the iPad it's only then I appreciate fully the dial on my watch!.

Any chance of a wrist shot???

Another Soviet Vostok. Gold plated NOS from around the 70s.
'Nev' asked for a wrist shot of my FA Jones Portugeiser.
It is 43mm. From a recent thread, here is a Grand Seiko 38mm wrist shot.
I really do prefer manual wind no date watches. Simple as it gets (unless you simplify even further with a two-hander.
And yes, the Portugeiser does feel big on my wrist. But it's a Portugeiser so it would, my wrist is seven-and-a-half inches.
