Ideal for holidays - no rush, 5 min here or there, no problem.
Seiko 5 with military strap.
Reasons: Sporty looking, water resistant watch and durable strap, not too expensive if I lose or damage it, accurate, luminous hands...

Breitling did similar (but with hour and minute hands) on a "tactical" watch. 24hrs in the face - just did not make sense to either the "tactical' wearer, or the domestic market.

The reason people have for wanting to do the things you queried is to help keep their community clear of undesirable content, for example a couple of threads recently deleted from SC.
Seiko Marinemaster MM300 - it’s really not me and it’s too heavy for comfort, but I like it. A holiday is an excuse to wear it.
I tend to take two: day wear (reasonably robust diver) and evening wear (bit more dressy).
Last holiday saw me taking my PRS3-LE yellow dial as a day wearer, and my Aramar Transatlantic (Nautilus homage in pvd) for evening duty.
Could have substituted my CW Trident or BM for the first, and Bulova Moon for the second.
that sounds ideal! I only have one watch at the moment (smiths Everest). when I go on holiday I tend to swap the bracelet for a nato strap as they are more secure than the bracelet, less chance of losing it and also less chance of scratching the bracelet. This is especially important when I am out walking in the mountains!
I don't buy into having a different watch for holidays. I only choose watches with some for of WR and if anything will simply change a strap before departure, or take a spare and a spring bar tool.
I took my Legend Diver on holiday this year and it was perfect. A rubber or Perlon during day for pool / sea / beach stuff and a leather NATO for the evening. The internal bezel is cool too - keeps out all that nasty sand :)
I do like my battered old Casio Pro-Trek PRG 240. It suits my holidays quite well and is a real tool. When skiing I especially like the Altimeter and compass function, and when away in the sun I like the water-proof ability for diving, Barometer function and temperature reading; even better it tells me the time too!
It's a perfect beater and is my second Pro-Trek. Maybe next time I'll get a G Shock Rangeman but feel its twice the cost but doesn't offer the functions of my PRG240.
I'd recommend one of these:
Casio SGW-100. Very cheap, dual time, 200m WR, compass and temperature.
I do vary which watches I take on holiday, but this is a good one, it's tough, waterproof and does not draw the wrong sort of attention as it's "just a Seiko".

PRS-82 is my go to holiday watch. Fine for the pool and smart enough for the evenings. I've just realised I sold it recently, now I feel a bit sad!
If I'm going abroad and expect to dive, I've taken to taking my Dreadnought Voyager.
GMT means I can check local and home time and WR means I have a watch suitable for diving.
Just what it was designed for!

Seiko PADI turtle for me, the dial looks amazing in the sun.
I am going to ride to devils bridge tomorrow and explore some of the area for a few days.
For the first time in ages I won’t be taking the Seiko Solar I bought from sales corner,instead it will be this one.
I had one never wore it and put it away,then sold it.but immediately regretted selling it.
So I bought another one from sales corner,now it’s really grown on me mainly because it’s just a no nonsense, tough watch.
The fact that is COSC at this price is a bonus as I thought those watches cost a fortune.
I intend to wear it and not worry about signs of wear.

This for me. Absolutely love it.
Took this on my recent holiday. No worries about being mugged. The only scare came about when I noticed, after leaving the pool, that the crystal looked hazy. Fearing the worst I checked that the crown was screwed down properly. It was. Further investigation revealed that I'd inadvertently smeared it with sun tan lotion. Doh!
I like these two for holidays.
This is one when rolling around in the sand and on the beach - wrt to 120m is good enough when I go snorkelling.
The I’ll take this one for the evening for drinks at the bar, no scrotes recognise it as they are only on the look out for Rolex.

Has to be this SKX for me. I do tend to lose track of the day and date on holiday, and I can also easily know what time back home too with the 12hr bezel.
No bracelet to scuff when you’re told to take it off and put it in the tray. Nobody desperate to yank it off your wrists. Day and date always useful on holiday. Good lume if the room is black at night. Reliable and accurate auto.

For a long time I took my Tissot PRS200 away, as it was my only watch. Then a Seiko SNK809 like a previous poster. A brilliant watch; can wear with anything you are likely to wear on holiday, swam in it all the time, mechanical and kept good time, £50 to replace if needed.
Now I wear my 1970s Vostok when on a sun and sand holiday.
I’m debating whether to carry my recently acquired Precista PRS-50B next time, for a bit of snorkelling.

I carried them with me and they held up to the extremely soft conditions and performed as expected.
If paid enough I will modify my response for any of the three in an ad.
I just take my Omega SMP 300 quartz for holidays. It’s one of the reasons I bought it, robust, easy to change timezones and not ostentatious.
it’s casual enough for the beach and pool, smart enough for evenings and doesn’t attract unwanted attention.

I usually take a couple of watches on holiday - something sporty for the day and something more dressy for the evenings - plus a G-shock. All eventualities covered. For business travel my X33 Skywalker is the ideal - it's light, comfortable, smart enough to look OK with a suit, the backlight is great for navigating unfamiliar hotel rooms in the dark, and the alarm will wake the dead.
I'm a lazy sod so only ever bother taking one watch, which is invariably a diver, swimming, diving or out at night, not expensive more than likely blue or orange,,

Not had a holiday since 2012 so not too worried about it, to be honest..... Last time I took my PO 8500 (to Vegas) but, if I went on holiday again, would probably take my Mudmaster GWG-1000 as that seems to get most wrist time when I'm not either at work or at a nice meal/drinks out.
Sure it depends on the holiday! Adventures with old friends in the back of beyond I'd take a quartz Casio, or maybe my Seiko. Beach trip with family would be a Rolex and Seiko combo. Long weekend wedding would be the Tudor on a suitable strap.
