A voice from my childhood, Play School, Trumpton etc.
RIP Brian.
Oh no !!!! Surely not :(
For me, like John Noakes, part of my childhood. RIP
Playawayaway!
I'll always remember him in The Organ Gang. "I'M BRIAN CANT!".
RIP
I'm really starting to feel old.
Remember when we only had about 1/2 hour to 1 hour of children's tv? And on two channels!!
Loved playschool and trumpton.
Anyone heard Half Man Half Biscuits song "trumpton riots"?

Such a gentleman, always with a joyous twinkle in his eye!
Remember watching play school with our children, Brian Cant was a great presenter. Seems a long time ago now. R.I.P. Brian,
Him and the legend Derek Griffiths were my youth
You really start to feel old when your childhood starts to pass away in droves.

The names come back and he brought them to life.
I think I'm mourning my own childhood as much as his loss. He was such a big part of it and i'd almost forgotten.
Brian..i'd like to say thank you.
Quite an achievement to be remembered by so many, so long after retirement.
Part of our childhoods.
Very saddened to hear of Brian's death. Huge talent and forever a part of my memories of childhood - and beyond. Glad to hear he got a BAFTA in 2010. Should have got a knighthood!
"I phoned a friend and told him I'd got Parkinson's. He said, 'What night are you on?'" [Brian in a BBC interview]
RIP Brian.
Play School/Play Away, Only worth watching with Brian Cant and Derek Griffiths in, and I knew that as a 5 Year old, there is no higher praise.......RIP Brian!
Sad to hear this.

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
Fond memories of watching Play School and Play Away, and then, many years later (1993?) watching Dappledown Farm with my 4 year old daughter, he had me in stitches watching that.
I agree, should have got a knighthood.
Remember him from play school RIP
