Thanks for that. I'll make a point of popping in on the way home :-)

Do you think that's on top of their normal volume (case or half a case) discount?

All the supermarket's are at it. Just bought 96 bottles from Tesco with the same deal.

Stand out bargain was the Chilean Isla Negra Merlot or Cab Sav. 2 for £9, but 25% was off the full price, so 6 bottles came in a £19.50 or £3.25 a bottle!

It's great stuff too and has great review (4.2 out of 5) on Tesco Wine by the case website. Just the job for a weekday glass of rosso vino.

Buying wine at just over 3 quid a bottle feels like I've been transported back to the 1990s!

    Just the ticket.

I've got some pigeons to shout at later and I'm out of Brasso.

The Rustenberg is rather good and well worth the 8 or 9 quid it now is.

With all the fuss about Brexit , euro/pound exchange rates et al, I am surprised (pleasantly) that wines from the EU are still so cheap .. Just off to do a bit of shopping

P.S. Tesco have reduced L Jadot Macon Villages to £6.50 and then offer 25% off that for 6 or more, that is CHEAP.
Happy drinking, sensibly , of course

I only use Waitrose for my alfresco tipples. They provide tasting notes:

Myself and the missus get through 3 bottles a week, so I'm sorted until at least Xmas, or until the next 25% deal comes along when I rinse and repeat.

Most of the cost is the duty and supermarket overheads. The wine in the bottle, even on a £6 bottle only costs £1 to £2. So a 15% currency devaluation would only impact a bottle of wine by 15 to 30p, after all the current contracts are finished.
