All this talk of Sea Dwellers got me wearing this one and thinking why bother with a SD4K. Hmm

It's been the PRS-82 this week... but today it needs to just sit next to me, as I'm in my sick bed

My wrist is 8"-ish so absolutely no worries for me. I find the diameter (40.5mm?) very well balanced and lug to lug (50mm?) works fine for me but I guess that is borderline for some/many others. Really happy that I got around to try it and initial impressions are very good.

No Coke at Basel, which is fine with me. Rolex would probably have made a mess of it anyway!

Alistair, I would keep that SD along with the rest of your collection, rather than chopping them all in for new SD

It's an Admiral HF manual from the very early 70s. The movement was in this is the 6942, the date version was the 6952. While the name Admiral has been used by Longines a lot over the years, I believe the "HF" bit was only used for the models using these movements (I think it stands for High Frequency, though they're 28,800 not the 36,000 we think of when we see High Beat) so searching for "Admiral HF" or "Longines 6942" shouldn't be too much of a needle in a haystack thing. Warning: the diameter is only 34mm. The straight lines of the integrated lugs give it a strong presence, but I do have the vintage-style wrists needed....

Thank you for the information! I will looking into this. 34mm might be a bit small for me but what a nice watch!

Needed a grab and go watch, as we needed to leave early to pick up our repaired car.

Went with this pretty eco drive...
