I wasn't intending to watch it as London 2012 really irritated me, but I've enjoyed the rowing and Japan beating NZ in the Sevens was exciting too.
Ha yes indeed can you imagine them doing there same here with cars driving in distance even if there was no risk whatsoever....
They also were so desperate to get the mountains in that the contrast in the shot meant that a lot of the time it was impossible to even see the clay.

The BBC coverage seems very odd - presented from a half deserted dull shopping centre car park on a grey evening, passers-by seem uninterested too. And why is Clare Balding next to a shopping trolley? - the whole event seems very amateur, and not just in comparison to 2012 which is bound to be a bit biased.

ive really been into to it i have to admit, watched shooting, archery, swimming, which i would never watch.
enjoying the hockey and sevens especially
Another gold in the bag.
Tremendous - damn that was close in the end - those last couple of waves held the last guy up!! GOLD GOLD GOLD
Solid day so far for TeamGB and the possibility of more medals to come! #BringOnTheGreat
Superb gold in the diving and I think in that discipline the BBC comentary has been excellent and informative
Never thought I'd say this but WOW to that diving!!!
Well done lads, fantastic gold medal
We have just won two golds
Come on max! Great win by the men's 7s immense effort from the Argies
Just a fantastic Gymnastics competition. Down to the last landing... Uchimura with a furious finish.
Congrats to the Brits for the bronze. Did not expect that.
Yeah that men's all around competition....the two and a half hours flew by!
As well as this over-achieving bronze in the all around, Max W has a similar chance in the floor final, and is favorite for the pommel gold.
Nile Wilson came 8th in the all around in the end, which is a good result for a 20 year old. Hopefully he can build on that in next few years.

Men's GB Rugby 7's team through to the final! Cracking semi final game, the final is 11pm UK time tonight.
More medals for us today and the track cycling starts shortly, can't wait!
Sitting down to watch what should be a glorious coronation for Simone Biles in the All-Around. And looking at the qualifying results, Raisman's prospects for silver are very solid, too.
Another gold in men's team sprint against the favourites NZ - superb
An absolute steamrollering from Fiji ensuing!
Silver will mean nothing to them after this,I feel sad for our team.
We have to take heart that they did damn well to be in the final, though after a drumming like that I'd understand it if the team felt gutted.
Credit to Fidji, what a performance!

I can't stop looking at the photo of that gymnast above. Art meets beauty.
Edit: couldn't watch the rugby after the first few minutes, it was too painful.
Back to back golds in the rowing and were up to 4th in the medals table! Well done GB this is starting to get good
What a high jump competition in the heptathlon - kjt, who it must be said is a bit of a goddess, new British record.

Olympic walking now on!!
Another Gold
Men's Team Pursuit... Wow! Talk about a nail-biting finish, and another record. Congrats to the team and to Sir Bradley Wiggins.
Awesome!
good commentators suck you in to sports you are clueless about
I enjoyed the weightlifting the other night.
Very impressive! I enjoyed the race, and I enjoyed this
Is Katie Ledecky half fish !! Jesus, there's winning a gold medal, and then there's making the rest of the pool look like they just started swimming. 12 seconds ahead of Jazz Carlin (well done on another silver)
How many people have the BBC flown out there
I hope Redgrave decks Inverdale soon.
Here's quite a story...gold in 2000 and again in 2016 (US swimmer Anthony Ervin); BBClink:
...The American won joint gold in the same event in 2000 when he was 19 years old but quit the sport aged just 23.
He attempted suicide, worked in a tattoo parlour, played in a rock band and sold his gold medal for $17,000 to donate the money to Tsunami victims.
"It's surreal, kind of absurd," said Ervin after his shock win.
Ervin revealed he became a father during the US trials last month but has yet to see his daughter.
He said he wanted to be at the birth but was still competing and then got caught up in Olympic preparations...
The long jump has done for KJT in the heptathlon as far as a gold is concerned. And Jessica E-H has a fight on her hands as Thiam is miles better at javelin.
The BBC coverage is dire. Unless you are a mad channel hopper you miss the best bits. They have swapped channels during Murray's tie break!
