What did you pick it up for?
Hi
Took this Rolex precision solid 9ct gold with a coin edge in trade but don't think it's my cup of tea as I don't wear dress watches, I have never seen one with a coin edged case. What you think of this Rolex guys? Looking on the net they sell from £1700 upto £2k so I may have picked up a bit of a bargain
What did you pick it up for?
Because of their small size tend to be less popular.
They offer great value for money IMO.
They make excellent birth year watches - out of curiosity what year is it - i'll guess somewhere between 1955 and 1964.
It's a 34mm case I think it's a 1961/2 with the cal 1210 movement
Haven`t seen one of these before. I like 50s/60s gold dress watches, pure class compared to the garish modern stuff. Some folks don`t get it, others do.
Provided there's a UK hallmark on the case it'll be easy to date it, assuming the hallmark is still clear enough to read.
The crown on this looks wrong to me, it isn`t covering the pendant tube properly, doesn`t appear to fit correctly from the pic unless it's been pulled out into handset?
Slightly surprised the OP took it in trade if he doesn`t like dress watches?...........not something I`d do personally.

Hi
I took it in trade as I liked it's unusual design and it helped move a watch on for me I don't dislike dress watches just don't wear them often enough to justify having them. To be totally honest I don't know about the crown it is a Rolex one and was told it's the original one to the watch but I don't claim to be an expert
1950's Cellini-like.
Thanks for all your comments and to you burnesey might take your advice and put it on SC
