Any progress with that NATO? is it going to be available through your website? Priced reasonably and i think it will be selling fast.

    Have been available for a while now;

I never understood the fascination before, but I have 3 for my Pelagos now. The longer you have 'em, the better they get.

You beat me to it. Those pictured have the upgraded heavy-duty hardware that Eddie introduced in 2014, but not the new de-luxe NATO with a weave [that] is much finer and almost silky to the touch introduced by this thread.

Oops, sorry, I'm new to Natos and thought I had the straps referred to earlier in the thread. However, these are hardly wrist-chafing :)

It's not a problem...we've all been there and we've all got something to look forward to.

I don't suppose that Eddie wants another dispute with Omega SA, but I think that he could object to them marketing their NATO straps as he has the trade mark (link) in the EU.

Eddie said at the time "I didn't register it to stop anyone else selling NATO straps but to protect my own interests following International Watchman's registration in the US." I suppose that anyone else does include Omega SA if he's to be even handed. To single out one company and not the whole NATO market would probably weigh against his case if it went to court. With Omega's resources that's probably where it would end up and Eddie can do without the hassle and expense. Just so long as he gets to label some of his own straps as 'NATO'.

As Omega are currently very kindly advertising these for you on every billboard and in every glossy magazine in the world - on the wrist of Daniel Craig, I'm betting they will sell in their thousands.

I'm going to go black, Bond, and... (please, please) grey. Grey would be amazing.

This could be a good game...guess the colours. The sample we've seen is black with a grey border...two more to go.

My guess...both black with a coloured border, one red, one orange.

This looks superb! I have the black oem Omega NATO and it really is silky smooth. I'll definitely be ordering a selection of these for my SMP and my Speedy.

Can anyone give me some advice on whether one of these NATO straps would fit on an Oris TT diver and if there are any special requirements ? Apologies in advance if there is a thread on it, i've had a look and there appears to be some conflicting info knocking around.

  23. #73
Those look cracking and will definitely take a closer look when they are released. Echo the sentiments of others that polished hardware option would go down well also (if that's possible) :)

I don’t think any NATO will work on an Oris TT due to the lug design. I’ve seen one fitted with a nylon strap but it was made possible only by having custom adapters made.

That's a pi**er, was looking forward to something a little different after the strap snapped a while ago. Didn't particularly like the rubber and my Tag and new bought Tudor are on bracelets so don't really want another.
Thanks for the help though, much appreciated.

You could try asking gasgasbones if he can make you a custom strap for it.

I've only recently joined the forum and have no idea who he is and if there is some etiquette regarding contacting him out of the blue with a request .
Again, thanks a lot for the reply.

Google search is your friend. See FAQ #1: link. Starting off with "I heard about you on TZ-UK..." cannot hurt (I think).

No joy anywhere unfortunately, sent quite a few emails and those that have responded have not been able to help. Looks like i'll have to get another rubber one as i'm not too keen on the leather bespoke ones either.
    First world problems.

Cool! My 18Q is gagging for an RAF style in grey (and orange). I'll keep an eye on the TF site.

Nice. I'm in for the grey and the orange!

Edit - Sod it - All three.

I predict an order for the orange/black coming in from me.

  39. #89
Anyone got any tips on easily buffing the blasted finish a bit?
I pinched something the wife has lying around for finger nails - that was somewhat successful on the TF nato I have.
I think if the watch itself isn't blasted then the matt grey finish can look a little odd at times.
I doesn't have to be gleaming but just a little shiny. I'll get some masking tape and wet&dry out when these are available. See how that goes.

Excellent - can see these adorning my Pelagos, DC67, Sumo, MM300, Orient 300m and a few others. Just need a red one to go with the U1 and a yellow one for the Seawolf too.

Looking forward to trying a few of these out...

Looking good, Eddie. What is the texture / thickness of the fabric like compared to your current NATOs (the ones with the squared-off hardware)?

I did indeed read that, but Eddie also said that as things stood, the spare bit wouldn’t fit back under the ring. So he might have changed the ring, or he might have changed the fabric, and hence my question.

I was wondering the same. I'm guessing the hardware's had a tweak though.

The rings are slightly larger (higher) so you can fold the fabric back through.

The strap will fold back through on the Omegas and the rings can accommodate it. Problem is the length. Too long to pass through the rings just once (leaves the end flapping), too short when folded back on itself (only passes back through one ring).
