    Lisbon

The two of us are off to Lisbon for a couple of nights later this week, I've shortlisted a couple of bars and a few things to do during the day however I'd appreciate a nod or two towards somewhere decent to eat of an evening. Somewhere smart with quality food, service and wine list without pushing into Michelin Star budgets would be ideal.

Actually, ideas for bars and things to see and do would also still be listened to! We're staying in the centre of the city and are more than happy to walk anywhere or use the trams or Metro.

I have a couple of restaurant recommendations but I'm afraid they're both on the expensive side.

Both are very good. They also have cheaper offshoots that are well reviewed.

If you go to Almada on the ferry during the day I'd very highly recommend Cova Funda as a place to eat. Very Portuguese and very cheap.

My favourite bar in Lisbon was the Pirata, a tiny local place near the station.

    Lisbon's great - enjoy.

If you can, go to Cascais. Wonderful beaches, and many decent food places in the town centre.

The other place to go near Lisbon is Sintra.

If you hire a car there are many lovely places for a day trip.

Portugal is a wonderful country and the people are very friendly. I am sure you will enjoy it

Is Pap Acorda still open? It was great a few years ago, and now I think owned by John Malkovitch!

Will look those suggestions up, cheers. Wish I'd booked another night or two now!

We're both seafood lovers, I think we'll have lunch here on our last day. Thank you!
