Thread: A rather rare Tudor Black Bay

  1. #1

Cool A rather rare Tudor Black Bay

A special one off Black Bay. It will probably go for silly money due to there being only one but I do like it:

Yes, it's very nice, and so is the Breguet Type 21 they are auctioning and all for a good cause too. No doubt they'll be very expensive, but at least they'll remain highly unique.

Beautiful watch but shame about the hour hand which IMHO is mismatched to the rest of the package.

Yep, if that was a regular production model then I'd get myself one!

Its lovely. A real shame they don't make these in a non limited run - theyd fly out of the shops.

It looks like they forgot to fit the end pieces.

Read another article about this recently via the Watchville app as I recall, a fine looking piece.

My first thought as well. Either it's an oversight (unlikely) or they are taking the retro vibe just a step too far.

Definitely not an oversight, this watch is from 1954.

I'll second that, although a slightly shortened second hand wouldn't go amiss.

I actually quite like the straight end bracelet, as it gives the watch a different and interesting look. Absolutely beautiful BB, and one I'd buy in a heartbeat if it was obtainable for us mere mortals. Tudor's really doing most things right these days!

This looks great, although on the modern one I'd still want end pieces that take up the whole area between the lugs and no red (or gold) highlights. Actually, that's what puts me off the Black Bay. I do like the blue one though.

    Very nice. I'll take two!

Have I missed the leather Nato being available from Tudor, or is this a one off too?

Love the watch, sadly beyond my budget for the near future.

Agree on the second hand being a little on the long side though.

Stunning watch and as others have stated, why not put it into production. The marketing teams must know that there is a hunger for the vintage look and these would sell by the shedload.

Very nice looking watch. I just want to know where I can get one of the worn leather straps it comes with....

Beyond availability at any price - there's only one of them, right ;)

That is very nice, but the hands are a bit on the thin side for that type of watch...

Still can't figure out why they called it a 7923/001. The 7923 was the only Tudor sub with manual wind caliber, and this re-issue features an automatic movement. Why not call it 7922 or 7924?

One of the watches, no mention of the strap!

Must have more of them for when the original wears out.

I see watches of knightsbridge have an original 7923 in their November sale.

    Cheers
