I'm late, but I'm in.
Well done Dave.
Amazing generosity and a great cause!
Count me in too!
So far i have only received 62 emails. if you are participating, please follow the steps in post 105. thank you.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Wouldn't it be easier to pm everyone on the list, since they've all signed up?
Would it make sense to have all the relevant info in a single post? First post would be a whole lot easier to find, even the regular directions to #105 tend to get lost in the clutter.
Not neccesarily Ant, you could also say that the more info there is in the first post , the less likely people are going to read it and more likely it is to get lost in there.
In any case, I am not looking for a project manager, I am just asking that people kindly follow the instructions in the thread.
I have done this before, and whatever system you set up, it is like herding cats. Of course, everyone has an opinion on here and people always think that their ideas are best, but if people just followed the instructions in the thread life would be a lot simpler!

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
It's growing and growing.
I don't mind helping with a bit of admin. If you can find a way of allocating me 25 punters I will happily PM them this evening when I get back home from work.
Two more assistants and Bob's your uncle.
Edited to say: at the time of making this post I contacted all outstanding pledgees (?). It may be necessary to do a further trawl at a later date. I merely drew their attention to post #105.

A couple of suggestions, can you:
- put a link to post #105 into your first post...along the lines of "Still open, to join in follow the instructions at post #105"?
- amend the list in your first post to show "email received" as you did with "paid" in a previous thread? This may be a pain to do, but it would prompt those that haven't picked up on the instructions that they need to do something.
Guys and girls come on! Please help Dave out here he is trying to do a very noble thing.
How hard can it be????
Please email tzuknepal@gmail.com with your pledge number and username in Subject area, and let him know if you are going to use gift aid.
SIMPLES!!!!!!!!!
Neil.
email sent, apologies for the late response
^ Thanks Ant, when Tony posts pictures of the Rolex in a day or two we can collate pictures of all the watches into one post.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Wayne mate, you are a ledge.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
I will donate an item of jewellery also.
I will dig out something nice tomorrow and put the pics up on here.
Can I offer as a prize this HW Getat I got years ago (with ill fitting canvas strap, sorry!), but have never worn. I'll leave to you Dave to use as you see fit, but am happy to send directly to the winner/recipient.
Ian
^ Much appreciated Ian! will add to the pot.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

^^ Alex you beauty, thank you .
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Just a little update for anyone that is following the thread.
The list is still open, anyone that wishes to join just register your interest on this thread , then go to post #105 and follow the instructions.
I have sent out emails to those using gift aid, when I receive confirmation of your donation I will in due course mark it down as received in the first post.
Those not using gift aid, I will email you in the next day or two.
Tony has said he will endeavour to post pics and a brief write up of the watch in the next day or so. When he does that , I will collate all the other things people have offered into one post so we can see all the goodies that are on show.
I will close the list for places a day or two after that.
Finally, when I have recieved confirmation of all the donations, I will ask Eddie to draw some numbers.
Many thanks to everyone for all their support, this has truly been a community effort and shows the forum at its best.

FYI you may want to check with your employer, some companies will match charitable contributions by employee's...
Interest registered. Well done Dave, you are a saint - and the other contributors too.

This is from the redcross that let's you search employer's, not sure if this applies to the UK as well:

donation made.
Not sure if you've noticed the instruction at post #105:
Once you have made your donation , please email me back with proof of your donation - either a screenshot, or simply forward the email confirmation of your donation from the charity.
My apologies if you've already done this and posted as a backup.
Only just seen this please put me down if I haven't missed it

I have not added to this thread any more news about what is going on in Nepal, or the reason for why we are raising funds here, because I think we easily get inured to such news and that at times like these, bulletins and appeals that are designed specifically to increase funds can sometimes have exactly the opposite effect to the desired result . But I have just been reading some reports from the ground , and it is incredible to think that some rural places have still not received any outside help since the first major earthquake happened more than three weeks ago. For us , especially living in the age of modern media and instant communication as we do, the first earthquake is a lot more than 'yesterday's news'. But for many living on the ground, it isn't , it dominates their day to day existence and will do for a long while yet. So if anyone can have the heart and dig a little deeper, then thank you, all the best, Dave
Edit: Tony will soon post pictures of the watch, and I am hoping that that might help to solicit a few last minute donations.

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Emailed! Looking forward to donating :)
Out of interest, how will the winner(s) be chosen? A random number generator or similar?
Also, I can add a Swatch GB743 to the pot. Not much but it's a lovely watch :)
I have just sent out links for the first of the recipient charities for donations not using gift aid. There are still 10 or so people who have emailed me who I have not sent instructions for donating to - I will do this later today or tomorrow. But we are getting there, slowly :)
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Okay chaps - apologies for the delay but I've had a manic couple of days. However, I've managed to get the lights out and take a few quick shots, which I've posted below.
This watch (a model 16570 Explorer II) comes with punched papers showing an A295XXX serial and dated October 1999; a stamped retailers guarantee with matching serial number; a Sanderson and Son business card (presumably where Dave-O bought it... and a very well-respected used Rolex dealer, I might add); hang tag and red chronometer seal; 2 spare links to the bracelet, making 12 in total excluding the funny ones attached to the clasp; and an aftermarket outer and inner box.
The watch itself is absolutely beautiful, and is certainly one of the best of this age that I've seen. Both the hour plots and hands have turned a beautiful creamy-yellow colour, and the dial is a perfect brilliant white. The case itself is sharp and virtually unmarked (you'll need a loupe to see anything, if indeed there are any marks) and the bezel has just the lightest rub near the 22 marker. The lugs are fat and sharp too, and all are in the condition shown in the photo... even the bracelet has just the lightest of rub marks on a couple of links (and the clasp is nice and tight).
Basically, this is a watch that I'd buy myself without hestitation, and I'm a right fussy b*stard.
Fantastic!
It certainly is a fine example which just makes Dave's sacrifice all the more noteworthy. Top bloke.
