That's a commission that must of left you feeling proud
This is a private commission of 75 pieces to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Royal Engineers Bomb Disposal. It will not be available for general sale and as far as I know, all 75 pieces are already allocated.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
That's a commission that must of left you feeling proud

Very tastefully done.
You must be very pleased, congratulations.
Congratulations are in order Mr Platts. Well done.
Very nice and very well deserved! The 18 is a cracking bit of kit.
A job well done, not surprised they have been snapped up.
Lovely!
Ok, can we do a forum watch?
Congratulations on the order :-) Their logo looks superb on the 18!
Congratulations, they look great.
I don't normally frequent the Timefactors sub-forum, but this thread caught my eye. What a beautiful special edition that is, and the nato finishes it off nicely. And a very deserving cause too. Nicely done!
Very nice!
Surprised nobody has yet said "that is the bomb"...
Very nice.
A credit to both Timefactors and those who are qualified to wear it.
I've gone all funny. A fine recognition of a fine bunch.

Outstanding tribute. The new owners won't appreciate how lucky they are til they get them.
Congratulations!
That´s a fine recognition of what TF can deliver.
Keep up the good work ;)
Excellent.
well done like the back as well as the front
That's great work Eddie, subtle and effective.
Eddie
Did you do that for 33 or 101 regt?
Congratulations and very nicely done! Great dial and case-back.
Or possibly The Royal Engineer Association - Bomb Disposal Branch?
They certainly deserve a good looking watch. Well done, Eddie.
Great work Eddie, well done.
Great, love the caseback
Congratulations and well done!
I've done a tiny bit of digging and believe that it may be somebody from BD Branch, REA after all . I'd really like one of these so intend to see what I can dig up.
Up until now this is the only thing that's been attempted in a similar vein.
The dial is a bit of a nonsense as the felix logo is more of an RAOC/RLC ATO thing and the text "Royal Engineer Regiment" is just wrong. I know a few people in 101 Regt have them (most of them procured from the US via Ebay if I remember correctly) and nobody knows who made/designed/sold them. Curiously I got this from an uncle who died a couple of years ago and who never served in 101 (though the squadron that he was SSM of was, much later, re-roled and merged into it) - I have more of a right to wear it, but haven't. This thread is at least a kick up the arse and I will now get the crystal repaired and do a battery change. It will not prevent me from tracking down one of Eddie's creations, however, which is really what the thing above should have been.
They seem still to be available: EOD Wristwatch British Military! And you can now get a BD75 coin: link1 and link2.
Good luck tracking down where to buy one of Eddie's watches...link1 may come up with the goods - eventually.
That RE design I quite like - the broad-arrow at 12 seems to work quite well.
Eddie, nice watch! I would love to see a Royal Marine Commando version down the road.
Excellent. If it's not on the Facebook page it belongs there.
Nice work sir.
no-nonsense, understated dial and the case-back is superb.
Thanks - the people at link1 do seem to know something about it.
I've just taken the time to read through the first link that you quoted which is so completely full of rubbish it's actually rather funny. They seem to have confabulated the RLC Felix with Dick Whittington's cat. It's also reassuring to hear that it is current issue and that under the dial ticks a tuning fork movement - there is also some suggestion that Queen Mary had some hand in the design but the English is so bad it's a little difficult to work out what her precise involvement was. Perhaps Eddie could develop his next limited edition with some some input from Princess Michael of Kent?
I do like that caseback, and the NATO is very nice.
That is a great tribute to a great bunch. Nice work Eddie, hope they paid you well.
I've just taken the time to read through it too...you're right it's so confusing it is amusing. The Lance Thomas Watch Company is selling that watch on eBay and also advertises another similar model on their website: link.
How many watch dealers called Lance Thomas can there be in Santa Monica (western Los Angeles)? I think this must be him:
Lovely watch. Whoever gets to wear them will be pleased.
Evening all, I was the person who had these made by Eddie. I can confirm that these were NOT commissioned by either EOD Regt, nor were they anything to do with the RE Association BD Branch. Anyone who suggests otherwise is incorrect.
The watches were an idea I had and all 75 were sold to serving or former (mostly former) Royal Engineers who served in the Bomb Disposal Regt.
All 75 were allocated and paid for before they were made. There are no leftovers, so the only way they will become available is if someone sells theirs on the open market.
The Regt was commissioning an expensive dress watch with some engraving, for around £475, but I'm not sure if they got enough orders to actually make it.
The watches are superb, Eddie has been excellent to deal with, and we have nothing but praise for TimeFactors

Welcome and thanks for the information, I have a standard 18a it's one of my favourite watches :)
I have one of the earlier quartz models bought new from Eddie years ago. I reckon this is the most military of all his watches. Strongly built, reliable, looks the part and is easily read.
