Red face Recommend a rubber strap for an Omega 2254.50 please!

I'm looking for a rubber strap and deployment for my Omega SMP. Can anyone suggest something that will fit perfectly and look great?

    Many thanks!

Either of Omega's rubber straps for the PO:

PO black rubber with black stitching OME-98000364 (Cousins X8560M); or
PO black rubber with white stitching OME-98000297 (Cousins X23193)

...with an Omega 18mm polished deployant clasp OME-94521813 (Cousins X8560MA).

All you need then will be a pair of curved spring bars such as eBay item # 350043936752.

I am wearing a 2231.50.00 on the 98000364 as I type, but using the satin clasp rather than polished as it better suits the Titanium watch.

Another option would be the black coramide (kevlar) rubber X-33 strap OME-98000001 (Cousins X24914). Cousins say this takes the same 18 mm clasp, but Ofrei say it needs the 16 mm version OME-94521613 (Cousins X8560MF)...so you would need to check this (and I'd be interested in the right answer).

I have just bought a copy PO rubber strap and copy deployant.
    Total cost £45 inc post.

    Will see what happens

The deployant looks 100% the same as a omega one but for £25 not £185

Nothing to lose as I wanted to see what it looked like on my smpc and not fork out £360 to try it.

Now that is what you call a thorough answer!

I think you'll find that the ETNZ 44 mm Seamaster has a 21 mm lug width.

It looks beautiful. But what do you think if you buy a more colorful strap for this watch??

If you can still find one, the Hirsch Mobile comes in red and blue (also black)...see link. While, according to the info at the link, it can be fitted with a deployant it is actually a calf strap with "rubber upper and lining material". I have the red version and it's a bit more like a really deep pink, ie not scarlet red, for what I wanted. This shot shows the colour pretty well (at least on my screen):

Hirsch have stopped offering some of their curved end straps, but may re-introduce them after a re-design. At least that's what I learnt from Gary at Watch Obsession: link.

What is the exact model number of this strap and deployment? I prefer it to the ridged rubber strap.

    Thanks

I think it's the Olympic Seamaster:

Omega black rubber strap 20 mm OME-98000085 (Cousins X21025)
Omega buckle 20 mm satin finish OME-94512012 (Cousins X20535)

...perhaps odgreen will check the number on his strap for you.

I thought that I should post a photo of my SMP on the PO strap as mentioned above; so here are a couple of q&d phone shots:

    I wear my 2264.50.00 on a mesh:

...which is one of the options in the thread that westy linked to in his recent post.

Both my PO strap and mesh are genuine Omega and very comfortable!

Edit: Perhaps I should add that I was lucky enough to buy both the strap and the mesh from TZ members via the SC.

I used a Timefactors Silicone Chunky (£6!!!!) & a no name deployant when I had my Omega GMT. The strap "fills" the lugs very well due to its thickness.

Definitely stick to the Omega OEM rubber straps as they are quality and look great on the watch.

Thanks All! I am pretty set on an Omega OEM strap so now just have to see if the muppets at the Omega boutique in Westfield can order one. :)

Where did you get the deployant? I called omega and they say that it is now 190!!

Hack, I would also recommend looking on Hirsch and Watch obsession first, those are decent straps and they can save you $$$

Another Omega OEM option was posted here: link. That's the OME-98000037 20 mm black rubber deployment strap (Cousins recognise it and give their reference as X33069, but I can't see it in their listings). Ofrei warn that "It's Rubber and Not Waterproof! The top is rubber and looks like leather, this stitched strap has a leather back and is not designed for wearing in water.".

This is the OME-98000037 20mm black rubber on my modified SMP (the Cousins reference number is X8560M. The Cousins reference for the depolyant is X33069):

As mentioned, it is not waterproof, it is cardboard inside the strap. But it looks good on the watch if you are not wearing it for swimming or diving.

PS It is cheaper to buy the strap from Watchpart.co.uk

I've just put my SMP on a black Isofrane and think it looks great.
Mine is a later model SMP but reckon it would suit yours down to the ground.
