Very Nice :)
I decided I might make myself a Modded all black watch using a Smiths W10 with knackered case, the back was in a terrible state the mid case not too bad, I re finished the case last year & forgot to take photos before I started, but take my word for it it was bad, so bad I had to remove all the lettering & numbers from the back.
I serviced an Omega Seamaster for Bry at Satintime http://www.satintime.co.uk/ & instead of taking payment I decided to have this case & a crown finished in Black Satin PVD.
I was very happy with the result but only just got around to finishing the project today.
here it is,
every thing ready for assembly
movement built & timed ready to case up
Very Nice :)
absolutely love it 8) 8)
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
When I read the title of this post I thought "that can't be right" but it's actually turned out very well

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
A very noice job 8)
Respect the past, live the present, protect the future
Yes, very tastefully done.
Tempted to see what Smiths W10 bits I have in my spares and build one myself.
Very impressive - it looks right.
Impressive indeed, this looks very nice, esspecially in contrast to the vanilla lume :)
now that is a good day. 8)
good day?
good job :)
I'm not a big PVD fan, but that really has turned out nice
Thanks for all the positive comments.. :thumbleft:
Looks great. I think that the mix of the old face and new PVD goes together very well. That and it's great that the watch has found a new lease of life.
Holy shit, that's one beauty right there!
Looks good, don't think I'd be brave enough to take that apart.
Interesting! I´d never think about PVD a vintage watch...
Excellent, I don't usually "do" PVD but that has come together just perfect... 8)
does anybody know what's happened to satintime.co.uk, the link seems dead.(and yes I know it's an old thread)
What a beauty. Any indication on what PVD'ing cost?
Regards
Martin
Nice job... In a similar vein, someone in the US beadblasted and cerakoted a PRS-29A. Pictures are a bit crap but looks to be a decent job too:

You can contact Bry1975 over on SCWF or Pistonheads. The cost depends on how many watches he sends (they go to Switzerland I believe) and whether you send him a bare case or complete watch. Best to send him a pm for the exact details. Here's a couple he done for me recently -
