I saw that, and thought it was a good looking piece....my guess £5k?. And as for 100thmonkey, "she" really is a lovely bloke.
100thmonkey has caused me a real problem.
She's just sold me a Pam homage, and it's bloody lovely.
Really, really bloody lovely.
Now I need* the real thing!
Could someone advise which real Pam it is, and how much I need to ask the bank manager to give me;
All black PVC** case & dial, lugs with screws to change the strap, plain sandwich dial except for seconds at 9 o'clock, brown leather strap, domed cyystal.
* in the sense that only TZUKers understand
** PVD, obviously!

There's a 'Buy One Get One Free' on uPVC windows at the moment, but not sure abut Panerai
OP, stick with the homage for a while. I've owned a few Panerai and the difference between the homages to them, as opposed to say Rolex, is IMHO they are so blooming similar. What I mean is that an Alpha isn't a Sub, but a 1950's cased homage, well, you could be wearing the real thing... You can have the same strap fun too.
PS: The new push button strap change system is sooooooo much easier than the screws.
PPS: I always lost loads when flipping Pams in short periods of ownership.
PVC - d'oh!!!!
I thought 100thmonkey was a lady??!! Really sorry if not!!!!
I feel bad having this convo without 100thmonkey being present - I really dont want to offend!
Maybe I should just start again!!
I can't wait to see how this thread develops :-)
funny that this thread was supposed to be a "find me the Panerai model" but was diverted to "what is 100thmonkey real gender". LOL!
Ah yes, for those moments when one gender is just never enough...
Gray
My birth certificate still says male but the tablets are making a big difference and I'm looking forward to the Op later this year!
It's a standard 1950's case sandwich dial in PVD. So take you pick. If you want black I'm not sure but in steel or ti its the 312 or 351 or 352 or 320 or 329 etc
RIAC
you can always buy a steel Pam and have it PVD'd i can not see why anyone would, i think they look a bit odd but's that's me and plenty of people don't.
he's not really a lady, more of a slapper, at least according to the pub toilets....
Thats actually quite a funny and unknowingly witty title you've given to this post. <I'm sure some folks will know what i mean>

Thread of the week so far. Still, it's only Tuesday...
Heres Me, Burnsey, and Toshi at the last get-together

Think it was a PAM000004, you will struggle to find one sub £6000 probably. I made do with a PAM 26K!! Same but a Destro so crown is on the opposite side!!
Ah yeah, had forgotten it was a 1950's case!!
PVD coat a 312 then!!
Its a PAM00026K SE from 2008. There was one recently for sale on another forum for $9500. So roughly £6000 Blowers sold one last year for £6500. Hope this helps
PAM026 should bring it up in searches. The 'K' at the end denotes the production year it was built.
Apart from the ceramic versions I can't think of a PVD 1950's case pam.
Looks the nuts that Marc, if anyone needs a 312 to do this too I might be able to assist
RIAC
If you're going to DLC/PVD any 1950's case, do a 359 and stick it on an assolutamente strap with PVD buckle.
Really suits that Marc. Please can you let me know where you get your watches PVD'd? I have a Special piece I have been contemplating getting coated. Thanks
I have a friend who organises it for me, can ask
Marc
Cheers Marc, I'll give you a ring tonight.
Sorry Kerry, but I am still finding this thread amusing. I am just happy each time we met, you was doing your best at impersonating being a man ;)
My gender reassignment needs alot of support so please refrain from calling me a man

I had this one done a few years ago now. Loved how it looked but didn't keep it. Last i know it was in New York but like so many early 233's had failed
