Tudor Black Bay - Strap or Bracelet

I am preparing to buy a Tudor Heritage Black Bay.

Which is the favoured version - bracelet or strap?

Probably easier to buy on bracelet and then you always have the option either way...

I do like it on the strap though - sure there are many options out there that'll work!

Bracelet , a strap can be sourced easily and cheaply.

  6. #6
Bracelet all the way. You can (as has been said before) soon get a strap, and, if you decide to buy the bracelet at a later date, you can bet you last dollar, it'll be several bloody fortunes!

  7. #7
Strap 100%, I think it looks much better on the strap.

I'd go vintage leather strap. It looks much more distinctive than the generic bracelet.

I would take on SS because will be harder to gat it later.

I gave my vote on leather because it looks better on it :)

Clearly there are fans of both versions - interesting...............

Also just noticed this is kinda like watching tennis - strap then bracelet then strap......

Prefer it on the strap but as above; Buy it on the bracelet and add the strap at the same time.

I cannot find a dealer that can offer either the original strap or bracelet as a separate 'add-on' item - so the decision is currently one or the other complete.

A consideration is The Black Bay with the strap option has a deployment, my choice would be a bracelet as I don't like deployments and I would source a strap from http://www.thetimetraveler.co/access...hell-cordovan/

Bracelet and then buy an aftermarket vintage strap....that'd be my choice.

Tudor Black Bay - Strap or Bracelet

Always buy the bracelet version and add a strap - I'm sure you can order the strap from Tudor even I the AD don't have it in stock. Will be a lot cheaper than vice versa.

A bracelet is a strap. It just happens to be made of metal, rather than leather.

I'd go for the bracelet and if you don't like it then buy a leather strap from dreamboat10

I'm assuming the strap version is cheaper. So that's the one for me. Wouldn't wear it on either as I'd buy a strap or nato that I actually want.

I tend not to swap straps/bracelets and just wear a different watch if I fancy a change, which is why I have a collection.

And for me, it looks so much better on the vintage leather, so I'd buy it on that and leave it on that.

But if you intend to swap between the two then buy with bracelet and add a leather strap.

  21. #21
I vote for the strap, I just love it and the clasp is one of the best I have.

I have a SS bracelet to my one on a side order but I guess it will not leave the box when I get it.

    This.

I bought my BB on the steel bracelet and shall shortly get a leather strap to add to it.

From the start I wanted one on the strap but when I saw this in a shop window in Germany a couple of days ago I wanted the bracelet!!

p.s. sorry for the pic of a shop front but you would not understand the amount of times I dreamt about seeing a blackbay in a shop Window since Baselworld!!

I'd second that- a bracelet will be more expensive to buy and some of the vintage db10 straps are awesome.

Bracelet for me, but I'd like to see one on a Rubber B (if they have one that fits).

Has to be the bracelet; pretty much only the OEM bracelet will fit but with straps, the world is your oyster.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Probably cheaper in the long run to buy the bracelet version and then purchase the leather strap separately.

Bought mine on a bracelet from Bucherer Lugano . They would not take my order for a separate strap as they no idea how long it would be to deliver .

    Hmmm...

I like the look and finish of the leather strap, and the deployant buckle has a feel of quality, whilst being a nicely designed item.

Both come with a NATO band for when you're hunting fierce creatures in the wild. I probably won't use mine...

    ;-)

You're not allowed them Mike, they are only pretend vintage

Something about the strap sets it apart from anything else.

Looks like I may have sourced a genuine new leather strap and clasp so looking forward to having the option of both when all eventually arrives

I didn't like the gap between the strap and the lugs, so bracelet gets my vote.

Voted for the vintage leather. Here's a pic with all three options:

I got the best deal on the bracelet version

Strap & clasp on order though - will be here next year so I'll have both versions soon enough

Very pleased with it thus far

I've only seen it on the strap and it looked fantastic, but if buying would probably buy it on the bracelet and source the strap separately if given the choice.
