Hi all, I've had a PRS-5 since 2008. The original crystal began to crack after 18 months or so, so I got another one from Eddie ... and it cracked straight away. I'm now on the fourth crystal. Eddie has, as always, been very helpful in supplying replacements, but I wonder has anyone else had the same problem? Is a crystal from a different supplier available, and less likely to crack?
Whilst I will supply crystals, I do recommend that the crystal should be fitted by the manufacturer. This problem does not occur with manufacturer installed crystals. Another customer dropped his PRS-5 and cracked the crystal. I supplied 2 more which cracked before it was returned to the manufacturer; no more cracked crystals.
