Pleased that the renovation work on our bathrooms has finished. 3 weeks of living like a tramp, trying to avoid spending time at home in the evening by staying at work late/going out/going for late night runs/not watching TV and going straight to bed (reading TZ on iPad ) because of all the dust and clutter created by builders who have taken over the place.
The dust really does get everywhere...even over clothes in closed wardrobes?!

Had major clean done yesterday with professional company, place is liveable again. Now to unpack the boxes that we put stuff in to give the cleaners access. It's like unpacking after moving house.

My former line manager called today, and collected my laptop, security pass, and corporate expenses card.

I am now officially free. It's a strange feeling, but one which I can heartily recommend.

Not the best chippy. PM me next time, I know some crackers!

The gravy is Northern, but with chips, often a pie, not as such with fish, but chuck a fish on top of the gravy laden chips and that's ok.

A head teacher I worked with once had a major coronary not long into his tenure with us. Four-way bypass and he was off for six months. It wasn't that long after he returned to work when he'd nip into the dining room for the dietary salad he was supposed to have - with his dinner on top: salad, meat, gravy, or salad, spag bog, etc. His plate was often an equilateral triangle in cross section. No idea how he survived. Still going I think, 20 years later.

Why do all Manchester hotels only have 2 lifts? In order for lift management software to be able to do anything clever, in terms of pre-positioning, you need at least 3 from what I understand.

Presumably they do without lift mangement software. ;-)

Amongst men in the kitchen it probably divides opinion, but I for one am not a particular fan of the garlic press.

The flat of a wide knife, palmed, with the then crushed garlic chopped a much better technique I think.

I have a brand new, but dead, First Capital Connect watch on my desk.
I can't decide whether to get a new battery for it, or chuck it in the bin.

That's my favoured technique but it can lead to garlicky fingers.

Anyway, I've just strapped on my new Speedy and I'm already thinking, "What's next?"

Stupid, stupid project manager. "Can you drop everything else and do it now?" -I reply that there's no point, because of all the dependencies. "Can you drop everything else and do it now?" etc. etc.

Builder arrived today, made lots of noise, ripped up a floor, created dust and destroyed a wall.

He seemed happy that progress was being.

    The random disclosure thread.

In Germany it would appear the 'form' is to bang the table with one hand after the presenter has finished.

It feels a bit odd to me - I'd rather clap, but don't want to be the odd one out. :)

Agree, I am surprised every time I attend a presentation in Germany (and I am German, just have worked outside of the country for well over 20 years).

You are Bear Grylls and I claim my £10.

Regarding pee drinking, can you still use the 5 second rule if you drop it on the ground?

To the wanker in the R8 who nearly ran me off the road in his attempt to get one place in front of me in the traffic tonight - well done (with your made up pseudo private 'cheapo' private number plate. I am glad you appeared to suffer an uncontrolled bowel movement after realising I was a) in uniform and b) my car has covert grill lights.

BTW, not the brightest move to put your phone to your ear to avoid eye contact at the next set of traffic lights - tosser!!!.

    Lol!

Back in the day, I've had the occasional slip-of-the-finger onto the blue-light switch: easily done with motorbike gloves on - and the proximity of a idiot road-user was entirely coincidental. ;-)

This demonstrates remarkable restraint on your part.

The hoover will make a hell of a mess, smearing and grinding the crap into the carpet. I'd take the crap after you've hoovered.

    It's the 'Random Disclosure' thread.

So, my stairs carpet is minging, or I could do with a crap, would be more on topic.

Personally I'd hoover the stairs on the way up for a dump
