    Stowa

I'm a watch novice but really like the look of Stowa, are they are decent quality and value for money. Any owners on here?

There's a fair few with Stowas on here. They're generally well regarded, good quality, value watches. If you can afford the wait new :)

Cheers for the replies. I'm getting next month and then having a church service next year (I'm marrying a German) and she has promised to buy me one for the German wedding.

Thanks, I'll bear the lead in time in mind, what sort of wait would I be looking at?

    Re: Stowa

I have a Stowa FO3. Quality is great. Took over a year between placing order and it falling through my door but i think the delay was due to difficulty with movement supplier.

A year! I was guessing 3-6 months at the most. Might have to get the order in sooner than I thought.

I have a no logo Flieger...I'm away from my PC at the moment so photo to follow.
Great quality watch which took around 3 months to arrive, although there was plenty of communication whilst I was drumming my fingers.

That is a really classy piece. I'm loving the contrast of the blue hands with the face especially on the brown. I'm not familiar with the brand which looks like a bit of a faux pas on my part

Now off to google so rectify this :blackeye:

    Re: Stowa

I've owned a MO and one of the pilots both were superb and I regretted letting th MO go as soon as I did, it was just too classy for me. They come up on sc often enough this is good as I couldn't do with the wait.

    Re: Stowa

Great watches and really punch above their weight in terms of build quality. Service is top notch as well but as others have said you need to wait a while for delivery.

    I currently have these two

I do like them. Their dive watches are very popular among WIS over here, for some reason.

Pity they don't make the FO anymore :(

I have the MA and can definitely recommend them - great watch for the money.

    Re: Stowa

Another happy Stowa owner here (MO roman). Their customer service is second to none, as I found out when my watch stopped working after owning it for 7 months or so. I sent it back to Stowa for investigation and it was a fault with the watch. They paid all my shipping costs, replied to all my emails in perfect english always within 5 mins of me sending them during office hours, they kept me well informed and they had my watch back to me within 3 weeks.

Love my MO and its certainly a keeper in my eyes, but i do lust after a Stowa Chrono

    Re: Stowa

I bought a Baumuster B and foolishly flipped it.

So I bought another one. On the second one I paid a bit extra for the 2801 handwind movement and the Fl23883 engraving on the side. I also got the deployant on the new style rivet strap, which I like much better than the old style strap. Some things, such as the 2801 and the engraving are not listed as options but Stowa is pretty good about doing small custom touches.

I'm very pleased with mine and will probably get an A dial flieger or a Marine Original at some point.

    Stowa

I've had a Marine Automatic and currently have an MO. Both great watches, although I prefer the MO with its slow beat loud tick movement. Excellent value for money and very well made. Go for it.

    Re: Stowa

Had a FOLE and I regret sometimew that I sold it. Keep thinking about a 'regular' Flieger.

On a side-note, I had the chance to meet Mr. Schauer at a local WIS gathering. A very nice person, with a strong passion for what he's doing; also, does not seem to care much for inventing marketing stories for his watches

    Re: Stowa

In fairness he doesn't really need to as the company has a heritage, not some marketing/PR BS that was dreamt up in an office using mood boards

I also married a German, so I bought a Stowa Baumuster B as a wedding gift for my equally German father-in-law. I asked Stowa if Jorg Schauer could add a personal inscription to the warranty card, and he did. I have an MO myself, and am about to buy another for my brother. Nice watches, nice people.

That's a really good idea, have to remember that.

Had a seatime and Marine Original still have a flieger without logo
all truly excellent value for money. Also visited the factory and the guys there are absolutely fantastic, as is the museum room.
website usually indicates waiting times if you look at individual watch details- usually 3-6 months iirc

I have an Antea Black with date, COSC version. Not sure if they make them any more, but it's a lovely thing, and properly minimalist in that Bauhaus German way.
