Easy, the one with most sentimental value.Insurance covers the rest. Kev
My vintage 6309.....
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........

Sorry, didn't answer the question. Why? Because if I wasn't wearing it I'd be on fire.Originally Posted by Foxy100

The hardest one to replace; maybe my Navitimer 806...?
Now this approach I like... For me I can only say..Originally Posted by bubblehead

Hopefully I wouldn't be just thinking about my watches in such a situation, but it'd be the one at the time next to my bed... that isn't in my fireproof safe
...oh and my Riseman G-Shock... my gf bought me it and it has the most sentimental value of ALL of my watches! It'd melt!
It changes day by day - it should be my Speedy as it cost the most, but at the moment it would be my SuperOcean Pro as I really like it. However, as the dearly beloved is hovering, I'd better say "Whichever watch my wife is wearing at the time!"
Well I only have 2 - would go with the speedy as its harder to replace than the PO
Panerai 111...........just the one I like the most.....
Not the one the wife's wearing :D
My Omega Constellation that was given to me by my Godfather for my 18th. As already said insurance can cover the rest.
My Tudor Big Block 74200! because its my newest addition and ive not had time to enjoy her yet!!
Having been in this situation, like, in real life, I can honestly say that I never even thought about saving anything I owned. Possessions quickly became utterly meaningless. In fact, I picked up an antique bust of Lenin (not valuable, but something I really liked) and tried to use it to smash a window, without even thinking about it.
I guarantee that if any of you are ever trapped in a fire, you won't even think about the watches in your safe until you and your family are out.
EDIT: Sorry to be a buzzkill. Please disregard this.
Easy - my 16600 Sea-Dweller. The only one I have!
V/R
Mike
My Seamaster 120 M because it was a wedding present from my wife and therefore has the most sentimental value to me.
My vintage Rolex Oysterdate, I have never seen another quite like it so it would be the most difficult to replace, my other watches are more common and would be easier to replace
Seadweller as it stays on my wrist overnight :)
My misses and my cat - They come as a pair :)
My Poljot. I wear it maybe once every couple of years, but it's the watch I had since I was 10 years old :)
I'd rather burn than having to choose between one of my babies! :-)
It wouldn't be the milsub. As I would be telling the man from the Pru after the fire, unfortunately that was entirely consumed by the fire as was any evidence that I owned it. It must have burned so completely because I left it sitting on a big pile of cash and some extremely rare first editions.
Tricky one.
There are all covered and non have too much of a sentimental value to me. I'd probably grab the V serial Sea-Dweller. The others could more easily be replaced with the insurance money - saying that I am sure I'd be able to get a V serial SD quite easily with the insurance money too.
Actually on second thoughts - I'd grab my 2531 Seamaster, as it is LNIB and finding another as good would be a pain.
It's just a matter of time...
Breitling Emergency.
My Omega Planet Ocean 42mm that i got for my 21st. (saying that if there was a fire , watches would be the last thing on ur mind)
I didn't mean it to be a serious thread about fire safety :D which is why I said everything and everyone is safe bar the watch box!
Id save the oldest I had, working on the principle that I don't get terribly attached, nobody has bought me one as a gift, and if one of them has survived for 50 years I'd try and make sure it survived another 50.
So, you dont grab the watch box, you open it, ponder the situation and take one, the whole time flames are licking yer backside........
How many ways is 'What is your current favourite watch?' going to be asked????

1) You can have a big ole toy throwing flounce because you're terribly offended by such a boooooooring question.
2) You can waste 60 seconds on the Internet by answering it
3) You can read it, dismiss it, and move on.
I did a happy search on favourite watch as thread titles, found 6 threads covering advertising, movements and current but not necessarily owned.
search.php?keywords=Favourite+watch+&terms=all&aut hor=&fid%5B%5D=1&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sk=t&sd=d&sr=po sts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
If you want to waste half an hour playing with the search function, feel free to find me the rest of them.
Other than that.. Have a lovely day
if the house was on fire i would,nt give a damn about the watches.
priorities.
My Heuer Carrera 1153.
I'd save whatever I was wearing....then go and rescue the dog.
