Hi all
Mate wants me to buy his Rolex Submariner date. It's 20ish years old and has been his daily wearer for this time. No box, no papers, no nothing, but I know him really well and trust him implicitly. Don't want to rip him off, just want to offer him a quick and fair price...
And I want the watch so it makes sense.
A little help would be much appreciated.

Actually £2500 seems low maybe £2750 to £3k - I haven't seen any going too cheap for a while!
It's just a matter of time...
I would have thought that £2750 was a fair price - you can then send it to RSC for a full service (say another £450 ish) and you will have a great looking watch with service papers etc :D
No Papers or Service - £2500
Serviced But No Papers - £2900
Papers & Box & Bits - £3300
Papers, Box & FSH - £3450
As a guide !

Interesting - a watch with no papers has a difference of £400 in value between serviced & unserviced, whilst a watch with papers only has a £150 difference between the two?Originally Posted by 100thmonkey
I'm not saying that's incorrect (I don't know!) but I don't understand why?
Can you elaborate please? Ta much :)
£3k too much with no papers, £2700 max for me and I still probably wouldnt bother.
2500-2600 max
Its only my opinion but if a watch had full providence it might be worth £xx and having been serviced it adds a little extra to it, if it has no papers and you service it then it goes back to a Rolex Service Center so not only do you get a service you get the official stamp of approval that it is 100% genuine inside which is the next best thing to original papers.Originally Posted by gmt 16750

Surely your mate has an Idea of what he wants for it..
Hadn't thought of this. Since I'm also on the hunt for a sub/sd/gmt, thanks!Originally Posted by 100thmonkey
I kinda thought that would be the reason - thanks for that and it makes sense.Originally Posted by 100thmonkey

Good deal at a sensible price. Add a ton for a double box and you are nearly there.
