Thread: "Darth" watches

    "Darth" watches

I see on this site and others lots of posts about how cool "Darth" or "Vader" watches are. But does anyone take the time to think about the heritage which is glamourised by these watches? Though it may be a long time ago and quite a long way from where we are, I would like to remind you that the Dark Side was responsible for what in today's terminology would be described as ethnic cleansing and industrialised murder on a scale we can barely comprehend - to the extent that it even destroyed whole planets in pursuit of its evil goals. I, for one, will not be seen out in the streets publicly displaying my tacit support for such inhumanity.

    Tangential, but i found this:

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rolex

"Good morning Princess, have you got anything to declare?"
    ?Sergeant Rolex

Rolex was a sergeant in Aargau's customs security force. He conducted the security checks for both Princess Leia Organa and Darth Vader when they arrived at Aargau's spaceport.

Any attack made by the Rebels against this Rolex would be a useless gesture, no matter what technical data they have obtained.

I've just about had enough of you. Go that way. You'll be malfunctioning within a day, you near-sighted scrap pile. And don't let me catch you following me begging for a custom leather strap because you won't get it.

    "Darth" watches

A watch forum populated mostly by geeks - who'd have guessed!?!

(he says whilst forcing his 11 year old son to watch 'a new hope' on blu-ray again, trying not to get angry when greedo shoots first while drinking coffee from an empire strikes back mug)
