Good question, I will await replies on this one to! :)
Can anyone recommend a good tool for punching holes in straps please? It's for rally straps, I like the style of the old Heuer ones with bigger holes in the middle. I also like the holes to go up close to the lugs and not stop at least one and often two rows too soon! I don't know if that's due to the construction of the watch, hopefully I'll find out.

Shoe repair shops will have a hole punch for leather , they adjust to make different size holes.
I had a cheapo job that lasted about 6 months - it was soon fecked when I started using it to make holes in belts.
I've just bought a Draper Expert Revolving Punch Plier 2.0 - 4.5Mm + a 6 Piece Hollow Punch Set (3/16" - 1/2") Dia for bigger holes / thicker leather from One Click Tools.
Not used either yet, but the Draper Expert Revolving Pliers look very well made for the price - under £10.00

I saw something in Maplins just recently - maybe it's the one referred to above.
Looked pretty solid.
This any good?

Can recommend Tamarack, I saw this last night browsing for b'day pressie recommendations for swmbo. An Explorer is too much to ask apparently!
I just bought a set of these and have already enlarged the centre holes of my favourite rally strap (one of Heuerboy's). Looks miles better now, I'll take some decent photos when there's some light (and I've found a way to remove the straggly bits left in the holes - have tried a skewer!). Thanks Andy and Mr Buffoon for the suggestions.Originally Posted by andy tims

I have a draper one which I got from Amazon. Very well made and has a revolving part to do different sizes. Cost about £8 if I remember.
I have a set a bit like this:
You bang them through with a hammer. Gives you nice sharp edges.
Great information, thanks for the links and info.
