Fantastic piece, congrats!
Picked this one up in a FTF yesterday, I really like it!
It's a Blancpain Air Command Trilogy Flyback Chronograph, the flyback function is a cool complication and this watch has a 21k rotor hidden behind that solid caseback. Anyone got a sapphire caseback for a 2100 series case to sell?
I think this one will divide opinion but let me know what you think.
Very nice. Only thing I feel is a bit out of place is how stark the numbers on the bezen appear. And yeah, flyback is a pretty nice complication.
I understand your comment as I thought the same but in the flesh it works well and its not too standout.Originally Posted by Concub1ne

Very nice - looks like a bit of a monster!
I think it's a magnificent watch, congrats.
Love that Jacob it's a meaty piece yet looks great on the wrist, the flyback is amazing and i love the date at 6, well done enjoy it, just lovely.
Mate that is simply fabulous congratulations on a real legend of a watch.
Not too sure about the bezel, otherwise it looks great.
regards,
Nick
Gorgeous. Lovely looking dial. Congrats
That is fantastic.I'm a big fan of the earlier Blancpain's. The depth and detail on the dial are amazing.
Looks nice, loving that bezel :)
That's a splendid bezel. Quite unlike just about anything else out there. Love it!
Ouch.Originally Posted by hobsong1

Potential cuff-shredder, though?

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
Bezel spoils it for me to busy with those numbers. The rest of it looks great
Jacob my friend - I have taught you so much and you have followed that advise....ie JLC, Rolex etc
.....and now you buy that  !! no accounting for taste :) . you enjoy it mate; can't wait to try it on and see how loud it really is ! btw you will be paying for lunch
that engraving on the left side of the case is a bit like buying a nice suit and walking around with the label still stiched on to the sleeve !
  call yourself a mate  Mr Rolex, Rolex & Rolex and then you call me a show offOriginally Posted by dandanthewatchman
The Blancpain is on the "wrong" side, so no one sees it save for the wearer...
Nah, no sharp edges at all and at 40mm and just 13.1mm deep its not a problemOriginally Posted by Backward point
Cheers
Jacob
I'm amazed that's only 40mm - it looks a lot more imposing than that.
Great wrist presence, regardless.
That's a real beauty - well bought and wear it happily :)
Fabulous...!

Well I lie it's actually 40.5mm and 13.1mm deep so it wears really well on my sub 7" wrist.Originally Posted by Bozza
Not normally a fan of Blancpain, but that really ticks a few boxes for me. I thinnk the bezel is a work of art, but could really divide opinion.
Any pics of the case back?
No devided opinion here! OMG!
This one has it all for me, awesome bezel, and.... well...... everything.
Wear it in good health and with pride. What a catch.
I don't have photos of mine since it's off at a service, but I probably would have gone for the recent SC air command if I didn't have the blue one:
A great acquisition and one of the best sports watches under 42mm
Lovely, but not sure about bezel, just different to what used to,i daresay would get used to it.
extremely nice.
Trust me it's bloody cool in personOriginally Posted by Dr.f
Now that's how to out bling Brietling, looks fantastic.
Oh yes, very nice, I do like that :)
Very, very nice. That's a classy watch.
Gorgeous.....you luck fellow - congrats.... 8)
If it had been a breitling it would have been too shiny for a lot on here.
As i like shiny breitlings I love your blancpain.
IMO

Congratulations, that is a beautiful watch. Wear it in good health
Fantastic watch . Congrats ! :drunken:
thats an absolute stunner, love the bezel
I like that alot. The bezel does remind me of the Rolex Yachtmaster.
Very clear dial and nicely machined crown and pushers with a quality bracelet.
A very nice watch indeed. Congrats.
Gorgeous, really like the bezel.
I love the 3D relief of the watch.
Wear it in good health!
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments, it appears it is just my mate thats clueless when it comes to sheer class...
I think I need to get a display back for this to show off the fabulous F185 F Piguet caliber
This is the same movement in the Vacheron Overseas Chrono and the older AP chrono's etc
^I agree. It's such a shame to hide that movement.
Great catch. Way under-rated by Joe Watch-Public at large and a sleeper for sure.
Just one Q. Is it a full on chrono, or a modular chrono?
Gray
Its a column wheel operated chrono with vertical clutch, height 5.5mm dia 25.6mm it has to be a full chrono with those dimentions and pushers and crowns are perfectly central.Originally Posted by gray
The entire watch is an impossibly slim 13.1mm for a flyback chrono and suits the overall proportions of the 40.5mm case perfectly.
What surprises me is how contemprory an essentially 12 year old design looks.
It also has a very innovative reset hammer design; basically rather than 3 hammers (one each for seconds/mins/hours), it has a single piece which strikes all three reset levers simultaneously -- something made possible by the in-line compax layout of mins at 3 and hours at 9. The decoration is also highly attractive, particularly the anglage and the Blancpain hallmark of equipping all its F Piguet calibres with solid gold rotors.Originally Posted by JC180

I am loving this more and more, the polishing on the hands and appliques is incredible and the watch has a fabulous quality to it.
I am eager to get a display back so that I can enjoy the movement, other than splashing out £200+ on an unknown ebay model, anyone got any ideas?
Love the movement, love the face, really dislike the dial.
It just seems like a clash of two different styles to me that don't gel.
Just IMO of course.
Each to their own, but I think the dial is a work of art.Originally Posted by darrenw

Stunner - ignore your (expert) mate - top quality and not often seen in the wild :)

I'm 13 years your senior !! And yes you have worked very hard for it, just thought a classy IWC or JLC would be your next move ......by the time you are my age you will have a stunning collection ....Originally Posted by JC180
