I have tried very hard to get the best I can sometimes it means selling the lesser quality ones to get grade A watches so just the 0552 (poor hands) is not up to my new found standards.
Thats how I ended up with 2x 0555 the first was in good condition then I came across a mintish one the 0555 are getting so rare I just can't let the old one go.
I have purchased most of mine from Anchor Nottingham I'm lucky I can get in there twice a week on the way to work and often get a call when new stuff comes in. TBH the mil watches are starting to get thin on the ground and Anchor are carrying a very small stock as the MOD is slowing down the release of surplus.
0555 are very scarce and apparently W10 are going the same way I had to wait ages to get a good 6BB then I had to settle for a Precista.
Looking for a CWC issued diver and that illusive navigators CWC next.
My favourites are the Fat cased CWC (no circle) and 82 Fat cased Precista and the 68 birth year Smiths goes without saying :D

Very nice collection 8) , missing the RAF Gen 1 Seiko as well though in my opinion :)
That is a very impressive line up.
Birth year and 0555 are my next purchases.
Nice pic's and ta for sharing
Don't you need one of the CWC RN issued Navigators? That is, the version with the date?
I have one in the "Fat Case" from 1981:
- classic looks and usable. The date was an essential for me as a Navigator when looking up the reference publications I used for navigation - tide tables, astronomical data, etc.
I can hear that Churchill dog saying " Oh yes " that was the baby I was talking about in my wants :mrgreen:Originally Posted by HappyJack

Maybe a matter of time....
But it is my impression that we see too few military watches from the period after WW II. So, this is an excellent collection!
Thanks for posting,

A very nice collection, I have 8 of these CWC/Precista G10s my self, my eldest son has 2 and my youngest son has one.
Here are mine:
2 x 1980 CWC non ringed logo
1 x 1982 CWC ringed logo W10
1 x Precista 1982 W10
1 x Precista 1984 6BB
1 x 1983 CWC 6BB
1 x 1994 issued CWC navigator This is the watch discussed in this thread and it is my most accurate G10 at approx +0.3 seconds/day. Expensive but I like it!!

Last of all, a 1995 CWC 0555.
My eldest son has a 1989 CWC 0552 and a 1980- CWC non ringed logo.
My youngest son has a 1990 CWC 0552.
How do I get hold of a 1981 CWC navigator??????
