'88 LHD MK2 Golf GTi 16v, due to be fitted with 2.0 ACE engine with light tweaks.
'01 Passat V6 4motion workhorse and snow basher - awesome, 4x Verdestine Snowtrac 3 for the winter and snow coming over the bonnet no worries.
Pics to follow at some point!
My A4 Cabriolet Special Edition..love it, especially now it's been given the Bluefin treatment...
Silver golf 1.6fsi (55 plate) and also Audi A4 Avant (2010)
Range rover sport, but after seeing the M 3 saloon. Thats my next baby
Tell me more, what engine does it have and what difference has the Bluefin made?Originally Posted by Gilly
I have Bluefin on my 123d and it's made a huge difference, well worth the money :)
A4 cab is a contender for next car as I miss open top motoring :)
Renault Clio 16V for a runaround (and been to the 'ring a few times).
Alfa 156 2.5 as the family car.
Westfield SEiGHT mainly for motorsport (although it's road legal and has also been to the 'ring 3 times, and used to see a lot of road use before the kids came along).
I've not driven an automobile since 1991. I have two bicycles.
Best wishes,
Bob

The 6 is awesome on the highway and it pulls from a stop like no car I've ever driven, but the nimble 3 would be much faster around a track.
Unfortunately, I've no pics of my car.... I should take one at some point.

I drive this currently.. Picture is from the road to LeMans 24 Heures this year.
330d with fresh ECU, exhaust, intercooler, ~250bhp and 35mpg average. Goes like stink and on 124,000 miles...
Paintjob now gone
There's a lot of nice cars on this thread, but I'm really really impressed by only one: whoever it was who has a McLaren F1. :drunken: :drunken: :drunken:
Seeing as I've bought a Rolex, qualified as a surgeon, married a fabulous girl.......my next life goal is that car!
It has the vw 2.0 tfsi, the bluefin has made a massive difference and it pulls hard but smoothly in every gear. Great car, I will be sad when the day comes when I eventually part company with it...although I have a habit it blowing the engines on my cars so they normally retire in a scrappy !Originally Posted by SimonH

Is that an M? 550?
My 330i gets 26 MPG average and 31 highway. 8)
After a long search I finally picked this up on the weekend. Not had much of a chance to put it through its paces yet but so far am loving the noise! Particularly like the understated looks which disguise the performance, looking forward to giving it a proper run out on the weekend. :)
Certinally is mate, it really is a monster but it loves a drink :DOriginally Posted by 5freddys
Awesome wheels, Alex. 8)
But holy feck!... how the hell do you even afford to fill that beauty!?
Nice one Paul, now where have I seen that before? Oh yes Harrogate :)Originally Posted by gingerboy

I owned a E28 528i but I never saw a M5 of that model out there. I only saw the M535i models occasionally.Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry
That's a great car. E28 will always have a special place in my heart... it was my first nice car and it still had the original vintage "BMW spirit".
M635 CSi is a great car as well, but those are climbing in value now. 8-series is bound to be classic as well. Love the classic Beemers... not too fond of the new ones though.
A man with taste! :DOriginally Posted by JPE
They only made around 175 RHD E28 M5s, and approx. 50 still on the road today (according to MOT test data), so rare to see indeed. I've only seen two in my life, the above being one!
8-series is defo a future classic IMO, buy a good one of them and watch the prices rise over the coming years, lovely looking things :)
I've heard a lot of bad things about the V12/automatic combo in 850i. All experts have adviced me to stay away from it, unless I start to date a BMW mechanic. 840i with V8 is much better choice (according to them). There must be a logic there as 840's are more expensive in Germany too.Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry
I don't know about those rumors... actually I'm buying a car right now... a hobbyist car so to speak. Porsche 928 S4 is probably my choice but I was thinking of a 8-series as well. Too bad there are very few 840's available in my country. It'd be a trip to Germany if I wanted one. Porsche 928 can easily outclass 8-series Beemer in every way (driving and performance, it's not even close), but then again I absolutely love the BMW interior which is far superior to Porsche.
Decisions, decisions... 8)
An appreciating classic. Good luck with choosing.
Cheers

I currently have a BMW M3, but soon to change to a Range Rover Sport as I ideally need something bigger for work. Been used to performance cars for the last ten years so not sure how a diesel automatic will feel

A colleague has a 2.7 RRS and it's so slow it's unreal, plus the interior is very cheap if you are used to BMW quality.
I'd be going for the 3.6 tdv8 which at least has some pace to it, agree the 2.7 is painfully slow. I am thinking of buying myself a race car next year so I won't really need anything too quick for the road!
I've never had anything other than totally boring cars (currently a Citroen Berlingo) assuming that nothing would match the fun of big bikes, which I gave up c.20 years ago. BUT - I spent yesterday blasting around in a 125bhp Caterham 7 Roadsport, courtesy roadsporthire.com. I'm now wondering how I can afford one - gotta be the PERFECT car for Lakeland roads!
Not really a big beemer fan but my old boss had an original M535 with the dog leg gearbox back in maybe 81/82 ??? he used to let me wash it for himOriginally Posted by GraniteQuarry

That being said I saw these when I was in OZ a few years ago 8)
335i convertible. with 306 horses. i love it.
Some nice motors on here, and it only seems right since I found this forum whilst browsing Pistonheads.com that I show you mine.
Hardly original, but without doubt the best all round car I've ever owned and at 5 years and still counting, by far the longest I've ever owned a car.
My wife has a landcruiser and I've got an Audi A6 Avant. Both do the job well.
An absolute heap of crap, but it gets me to work and back.
More a bike man.
Some lovely cars on here BTW.
This one now, W124 E280....long gone are my fast car days, 4 kids to ferry about along with my non driving (yet!) lady :)
This was my favourite though:
Sanjay
My new purchase - an '88 M3 Evo II 8)
Picking it up on Saturday :)
Lovely Benny - Good investment IMO always been tempted to buy an E30 M3.
My latest retro toy :D

An absolute beast of a machine and still one of my all time favourite cars. I used to think our carlton gsi 24v was rapid until I was lucky enough to be a passenger in one of these.

Lovely in summer, a GIT to get over any bumps bigger than a flea..
Current car which will be for sale very shortly :)
Supposed to be buying a Range Rover Sport to transport my art/furniture around in occassionally for work but don't think I can resist something fast
Back in the early 90's I worked for Chartered Trust (part of Standard Chartered Bank) and I recall arranging HP on one of these beasts for the owner of a large chain of Hi-Fi shops in the West Country. His was the dark green (mallard I think it was). As we financed over £30k it meant I had to do a vehicle inspection which included a test drive  :DOriginally Posted by GraniteQuarry
I think I was driving a Gutmann tuned Peugeot 309 GTi which I thought was quick, until I had a blast around the block in this bad boy :D A fantastic beast of a car that's brought back a lot of good memories. Yours looks a mint one too!
were they not all green?i know david's looks black but i always thought that they only came in the very, very dark 'imperial' green :?
