Which gets the most wrist time? The Mark 11?
A biased observer:)
Hi,
Thanks for the compliments.
Although most of the mil watches are designed as a sturdy one with strong balance and movement, I don't give them much wrist time except taking a wrist shot.
Best regards,
Hans :o
Not much but the game is not over.
What are these watches?? IWC B-Uhr??
Wooo stunning.....
One is IWC the other is Lange & son.

What do you mean Colin
Excellent watches.
Adrian.
Colin, you're too modest. Great collection.
My only "complete" collection, although I'm working on others...
Great post...
Another completed set of dirty dozen...
:o
So now there are six completed set of dirty 12 found.... :bounce:
Any other collector has the set...
Best regards,
Hans
You must have looked hard to find such a collection Hans - I knew of yours, but wasn't aware that so many others had collected the dozen. I think I've owned 5 or 6 of them and that was hard enough!
Is it now established that the Invicta WWW, mentioned by Ziggy in his book, didn't actually exist?
The MoD gave order to a 13-thSwiss Manufacturer : Enicar. There was even a "Store number" issued but Enicar did never make the 13-th W.W.W.
Regards,
Adrian.
HI Davide,
For the Invicta, I cannot confirm whther it is a legit correct WWW but as far as I know, the watch is a simply redialed one.
Without 1000% solid confirmation, my point of view is "Never say Never".
There are a lot of information from MOD during war time that did not record or record has been lost, and I view those exception as the joy of mil watch collecting...
One thing is that I am sure there are a lot of mil watch aficionados around that may not have enough time or right gear to pcture their great collections and a lot of information that we don't know...
I always and still hold a humble attitude about mil watch collecting. :)
Best regards,
Hans
Do you have the original bracelet that goes with the SandY 660?
Yes, I do. It came with both a bracelet and the black nylon band in the original box.Originally Posted by lysanderxiii

Some update:
With the addition of White 56 Omega...lower right hand corner... :)
The dial is similiar to the MOD white Lecoultre 6B re-dial....
Got the question is whether the winding crown is correct?? At first, I don't think it is legit cos it is a bit smaller.
However, after comparing with 6 more 6Bs with similiar crown, I assume that it should be legit as they are all idential...
Maybe MOD found that this smaller crown is easier for winding??
Any idea??
Best regards
I have a good few crowns that look like that - mine are not original but almost identical to those used on MIL-W-46374 U.S. wristwatches.
They are very close to the originals in appearance until you compare with a genuine one. They do have a brighter finish, which I usually roughen slightly with 2000 grit wet'n'dry.
Here are a few of my British military watches.
And here are a few of my US military watches.
Well thank you.Originally Posted by kiki-picasso

I had no idea that there were so many complete 'dirty dozen' collections. More to the point, I had no idea there were so many other people with the same problem as me  .
HansL: I'm rather partial to the 56 as well.
Please keep collecting and posting those collections.
Hello Alpha,
Your post is really a great thread to start and has drawn a lot of attentions.. :D

Very nice collections!!
I assume that the arrow looking logo was somehow related to these military watches but can someone give me a little more info on the logo?
The phaeon (aka: Crow's Foot or King's Arrow) marks the property of the British Military and has (allegedly) been used since about the times of Henry V. It will be engraved onto any watch (and/or printed on the dial) that has been issued to any of the British forces (also on some Commonwealth watches EG: Australia and NZ).Originally Posted by dodger

Hi Hans,
Wonderful collection...
As we both were discussing differences on military dials these days, I wonder whether you could say someting about the 2 different types of "broad arrow" and about the red tip of the second hand in your Smiths de Luxe collection
Regards,
Adrian.
Hi Adrian,
Thanks for your compliments.
For Smiths deLuxe, there are five dial variants that I have seen.
All with Smith deLuxe "Triangle at 12"
1. Thin Arrow dial
2. SS4 dial without broadarrow
3. Plain dial without broadarrow
White 12
1. Fat Arrow
2. Plain white 12 without broadarrow
Since I think that there may have more variants (I still cannot confirm), I will carry on my researhes for these watches.
For the Smiths deluxe with red tip second hand, I confirm that the red tip sweep hand is wrong as the second hand is a replacement hand, and I have sourced a correct second hand to replace.
Some new update... :D
Hope this help!
Hans
Hans, I love those!
What's the lug width? is it <18mm? the later W10 is about 17.3 but takes most 18mm straps at a pinch; I think it's an Imperial thing (although 11/16ths isn't exactly neat!) or maybe to get a more secure fit on 18mm straps.
Can you post photos of casebacks and movements, please. I love these!
Hi,
As some watches now are in my watch maker side for movement overhaul, (since some movements have dirt that need my master watch maker to handle), sorry that I cannot post pictures of the movement and the caseback.
While the movement used is SC 27 17 jewels Smiths movement.
Best regards,
Hans
It's a little out of date now, but I once came across a pile of watches........
As you can see, they were mostly WWWS, with a couple of Lemania Chronos thrown in for good measure. many of them were missing dials/hands (I am fairly sure that they were put aside in the middle of the process of removing radium luminous dials and hands in the early '60s or whenever it took place) It took a while to find the right dials and hands for all of them, and many were just common or garden varieties......
but some were a bit more special and interesting......
I was and remain hugely grateful for the help I received to complete the watches, from many, many different individuals, but one guy in particular.
Regards,
Martyn.
Damn Martyn!
I remember when you sent me that first picture. Looks like you have been a busy boy :bounce: . Well done, you have some crackers there.
I should not have opened this post.....very tempting
Holy s...
Amazing.
The dirty dozen... what a tempting collection title!
Does anyone have even a ballpark figure for a basic complete collection of these? Not perfect condition, just running would be good.
