Seems that 2009 has gone in a breath (another year gone!) & the forum has been a hive of activity, discussion and banter.
What for you are the memorable threads & why?

Favourite and memorable, well, they're not the same are they? There were a couple of ugly ones (well, more than a couple really) that I remember all too well and wish I hadn't clicked on :?
Having said that, I did enjoy the "Spelling and grammer" thread - it was most entertaining :D

I like the one's that had tits in them :D
I won't argue with that! :DOriginally Posted by Parabola

Distasteful as it arguably was, the spat involving a bad transaction and insinuations based on a watch being wrapped in tissue paper was memorable.Originally Posted by Chris_in_the_UK
As was the sales thread for a Breitling where it was decided on mass that the watch was a fake and the seller branded a dealer in fakes only for the bona fides of the piece to be proven (to the satisfaction of most) by a third party on the thread, leaving a number of contributors to apologise, eat humble pie or go silent.
Neither was my favourite though. Mainly I enjoy learning something from a thread or enjoyiong great photos. Have really enjoyed some of Jed's photos or links to photos from some impressive collections / gatherings.

All the ones after chucking-out time involving Griff.
As a non-native speaker, I enjoy reading spelling-and-grammar threads :)
Btw, the funniest thread is the one about Mr. Flatt??? :D
I definitely had a good chuckle in this one:

I enjoyed the "Fakes - Cop yourself on" thread.
I have only a vague idea of what "cop yourself on" actually means but then going into the thread I enjoyed the philosophy, some of it very thought provoking and had me re-assessing my position and value sets. Some of it of course was the sort of one dimensional rubbish you hear thick people talking all the time on the tram; I use public transport quite a bit and have trouble zoning it out.
I am referring to the appearance of the watch Taliban who took the line that all fakes (but presumabley not the copies and hommages) are absolute trash, people selling them are lower than scum and should be killed... etc etc.
So in 2010 I are mostly searching for sterile facsimile copies of vintage Rolex as follows: 1016 (I have a Zeno ETA and MkII Vantage), Paul Newman Daytona (had a gevril and regret selling, have Tudor Daytona and love it), a 5513 and Snowfake subalike.
and then there was the length of the thread which although going round in a few loops was fun and very illuminating if only for fleshing out character profiles of a few forum members.
Is it me or is the bear pit spilling out to a few of the other sub fora? Remember the fight scene at the end of Blazing Saddles? The arrival of a woman (A WHAT?!!!) on watch talk caused few tables to go over the other day :blackeye:
John's (abraxus) review of the Seiko MM600, a very thorough report with much researched info.
And JCowley's review of the Omega PO.

yes, and the one about the classic vintage Seikos? I cannot recall who was the member who posted that one... Poor memory, too soon...Originally Posted by ralphy

Any thread that has a Bubi video in it.
Without doubt the the dawson25k thread.
Although the initial subject matter was not great, what ensued afterwards was hilarious
