    Your WIS plans/wishes for 2010?

As the old year closes what are your WIS hopes and desires for 2010.

For me they are pretty simple:-
    1) Take delivery of my Angelus 6152
    2) Track down and buy my ideal vintage Blancpain Fifty Fathom
    3) Upgrade the 3646 to a Cal 618
    4) Visit my watch marker in Germany and then spank the Porsche round the "Ring" on the way home - the perfect weekend :D .
    5) See no more "I hate Cyclops threads"
    6) And this one is fantasy - no more fakes on Ebay.

    Love and peace

    Andy

2010 plan is to decimate the collection and get down to sub-10 pieces.

And to get a final decision on my 40th b/day watch :)

Low volume, high quality for me - possible a JLC to add to the stable and maybe a PAM 212 or 213.

Get me a job again, so I can get my 4500 £ back into my watch fond..... Then I will look for a Panerai PAM24 or PAM243, and be happy with only 4 divers (I hope)

Another low volume year for me with the big move in 2010. Hope to add a Rolex to the collection next year and that is about it :)

Get the collection down to 4 watches I regularly wear...

    Thats about it I think...

Re: Your WIS plans/wishes for 2010?

I plan on having a quiet year with watches in 2010. There are only 2 watches on my list for next year - a Panerai 232 and an Ennebi Fondale. I think 2010 could be the year I actually decrease the number of watches I have

But I think that was my intention for 2009

I plan to curb my watch spending completely in 2010. Had my fairshare of big name watches this year and what with rising prices watches are losing their shine for me a little.

    Dornbluth 99.1

Could get distracted by Speedy Pro Sapphire Sandwich, or 40th Aniversary "Patch" or Anonimo Polluce Bronze though

Find an accutron, ideally from 1977 (my birthyear)
    Buy a winder.

TR1000 for those occasions when it´s better to leave the 3536 home...
Narrowing the collection down to a manageable level of six(?) pieces...

    Which? That´be a problem

    Only 40 Andy....you've had a tough life then! :D

    Wishes:

    1. Cali dial watch - PAM?

Start my new job next summer, so a stressful year ahead. This has to be my main focus esp as it invloves a move up to the Midlands. I have dragged the kids away from their friends once already and will be doing it again. However, the move will be good for us in the long run.

Re: Your WIS plans/wishes for 2010?

Nothing to ambitious for me. I'd like to get an Omega SM300 (from 1965 would be my ideal). I've been wearing one borrowed from a friend pretty exclusively for the last few weeks and decided that I much prefer acrylic to mineral or sapphire.

Apart from that a few in my collection need a service or some TLC. In general I'm going to try and appreciate what I have more and not just seek the thrill of the chase.

    Cheers,

    Gary

P.S. Non WIS wise I need to replace my central heating :shaking:

That reminds me I'd quite like to get a vintage Grand or King Seiko too, thanks Ryan.
Oh and thinking of high frequency movements, a vintage Girard Perregaux would be nice too :) .

I can see a couple of Steinharts joining the collection, but it will mean a few have to leave (the box holds 8 and I really will try to keep to 8 in total)...

Eddie's new Smiths (the beefed-up 39mm variant with sapphire crystal) is a dead cert.

Otherwise, I have a hankering for another Speedy Pro...

A JLC for me (tho I do have another Stowa on order as well)

Otherwise to reduce what I already have, even down to 20 would be good.

    Firm plans -

A Panerai 190 Incoming late Jan
A MkII Kingston incoming whenever it arrives
A few (3) up for sale in SC early in the new year

And we'll just see what happens from there. The thought, whilst noble, of sticking to a 'plan', is naive at best :)

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Re: Your WIS plans/wishes for 2010?

Agree with Chinnocks post earlier. I must start buying watches I know I want rather than the ones I think I want. Too many have found their way to my wrist only for me to realise they just dont excite me in any shape or form and they end up for sale (Darth Tuna being the exception here....my painfully skinny wrist dictated that it need to go). Thats not too bad with the cheapies but with the more expensive ones I've not recovered my initial outlay.

With that in mind have a 6 watch maximum for 2010 and would like an Omega in there somewhere.Think I'm just about happy with the current collection so the aim to stop flipping should benefit.

Priority number one - get my hands on one of Eddie's uber-limited full-lume Italians when they hit the TF site. Will need to be quick on the draw I fear...

The other target is my first Rolex, probably the Exp II white dial.

First, sell some watches. I'm becoming a hoarder and have far too many. Tough to decide which to sell, though.

Then concentrate on high-end stuff (to keep the numbers down) with very limited exceptions, such as possibly a PRS-50B, a Damasko with a bezel, or a Sinn 556/656.

Most likely acquisition is the new JLC Master Memovox in steel if I like the final version that will likely be shown at SIHH.

Re: Your WIS plans/wishes for 2010?

Vintage Heuer Monaco for me. Auto or manual. I'm up for a multiple MONSTER trade with some of my stuff for one, if anyone wants to part with [one of] theirs  My end could include: 60s BLACK dial Omega Piepan, a rare Omega 1040 Yachting chrono, 1983 Rolex Air King Date + a few others. All could all be in the mix for the right one.

Out of interest, what would be the Trade price among us for one of these?

Should be in FSOT I know, but its probably a long shot, its not concrete, and it is Christmas :)

Oh I am so close to the same thinking - sub 10 is my goal.

I wish I had the will power of gettign rid of one watch before I go and get another - there must be some way to achieve this without radical therapy!

Re: Your WIS plans/wishes for 2010?

I've gone from one watch (nice watch) at the start of the year, a Panerai, that I got for my 40th to four at the end of the year. I bought and sold a Doxa (I think it was the right decision) and bought a IWC spitfire when I really wanted the chrono version, but overall really happy. I'm wearing at present my Seadweller that I have have been in and out of love with since I bought it in June (at present I think it's amazing).

Next year. At the moment I would like a birth year Rolex (not told the wife though)

Happy Christmas to one and all.

Add a couple of watches that are on my long shortlist from some smaller marques, one will be from the wife and kids as a 30th present 8)
    Try a few vintage watches.
And save the cash up for one of my current reachable grail watches a sub or speedy pro, as a late 30th gift to myself
