Very nice, congratulations ! I'm also interested in the at, toss up between that and an explorer. Be interested to hear how you get on with it ! All the best
Hi folks,
Again apologies for the rubbish pics, going to try and get my mate round again to do something more arty and (dare I say, in focus!). Bought this aqua terra yesterday having compared and contrasted with Zenith and JLC, head was saying go for a top drawer, heart was saying but this is so much prettier, more sturdy etc. So it was the AT I walked out with...
Colour of the dial is grey, but in some lights looks brown...
the bracelet's very comfortable with a good clasp
and the movement is beautiful...

Very nice watch, is after one myself actually.
May I ask how much you paid for it ?

Definitely one the nicest faces out there Matt :thumbleft:
The Tech-grey does look brown doesn't it
Hearty congrats and a great choice.
Very nice, those 8500 movements look so sweet 8)

That's the watch i'm looking at next as well, looks very nice on the wrist.
Gorgeous looking thing, I love that version of the new AT.

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
Classy 8)
Congrats Matt, very nice choice and the photos are good IMHO. Can't wait for mine to arrive in a couple of days :)
I know what you mean about the movement, it was one of the things which tipped the balance for me and decided to buy one. In my opinion, a very well made, outstanding all round watch, dressy enough to wear with a suit, waterproof for most persons needs and pulling off the trick of being casual enough to wear with jeans down the pub.
One thing I didn't realise until I read it on another thread - Exporler vs Aqua Terra - that the hands and indices on the face are white gold - which is very 8)
What a great looking piece!
Love the dial, and the movement is a gem.
A very good alternative to the Datejust I'd say.
Cheers,
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
A very handsome watch - and the movement looks beautiful.
+1 ,stunnng watch from Omega , Im tempted :DOriginally Posted by Rinaldo1711
Nice pickup! Am very keen on getting one eventually (even though I have a JLC and Zenith, I still want one of those!)
Sweet as Matt, Very very nice 8)
Nice watch - but what does "teck" mean? Not seen it mentioned anywhere but TZ-UK. Is it a reference to a finish on a different watch...?
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
It's the name of the face Andrew. I've seen it listed whenever I've looked at this model so it seems as if it's the legit name of the dial.
It is a hybrid - it is based on the teak decking on some of the world's more exclusive sail boats - Riva I think it was. The dial was designed to replicate that - or so I read somewhere. :)Originally Posted by andrew
it's really nice. i read they've a teak ivory dial...did you try that?
Very Nice, I fancy the Railmaster myself.
Lov-er-ly. I am soooo tempted by this one.
Nice dial and beautiful movement!
Congratulations, that really is a very nice watch and I love the dial
Ah, teak decking... tecking... teck. Got it.Originally Posted by CmdrBond
Although one reference suggests "teck" is the French for "teak". Can anyone confirm?
It's quite nice to look at in isolation, but unfortunately reminds me of pinstriped suits. That and the illusion to bankers' yachts (sorry, it's a powerful image) leaves me hankering after the old one I'm afraid.

Very nice..i think I'll have to add that to my ever growing list....
Thanks for the comments. I'm still gazing at this watch during the day, always a good sign, and am really enjoying how the dial looks different in different lights and how the (somewhat extreme) markers catch the light and look slightly blingy; the logo and 'omega' are applied and again glimmer as you move the watch. Amazingly it has won the approval of mission control "at last a proper watch".
The bracelet is proving to be nice and comfortable and swirly resistant (tempting fate I know, but much better than the usual seamaster clasp).
So, to any of you thinking of taking the plunge, go ahead, you won't be disappointed.
Matt
Very nice indeed, I sat pondering over one here on SC some time ago until it (luckily  ) sold...
They do look the business - congrats !
Peter
p.s.
Riva make very expensive (all teak) stunning power cruisers - often seen in Venezia and the italian lakes !
Nice one, I was in an ad yesterday pouring over the old 2500 and the 8500, while the old watch is lovely the teck face is beautiful...you can certainly see how the overall quality and finishing has been stepped up a lot...very tempting. Enjoy !
My current grail.. Hope you'll enjoy yours for many years.
That movement looks very exotic, love it!
Lovely. I am also looking at a Railmaster Chrono. Looks similar but no date, which is my only hang-up.
I hope you enjoy it, it really is a new classic
Best dial combination IMO.....but personally I`m still not convinced by the teck deck effect.
Enjoy,
Paul
Had this on again today, have to say i think this will be my next watch.
