Not me - don't like 'em - can't say wgy though - just don't do it for me.
I didn't until a few week's ago,got from Neil (SC),a Seiko 5 ,great watch at a great price :)
I stand corrected! I just had a look at the .jp site - nothing that grabs me though..Originally Posted by Dapper
I do remember seeing a quite nifty Seiko GMT - the 'Grand SEIKO Classic GMT 9S56' - what a beautiful watch - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO3uAEBHN8w
Just got this one the other day. Very happy with it.
Funnily enough one ofthe best watch bracelets I've had was on my old Sportura.
Nope - although I've had 2 or 3 over the years. Bought my first diver in the very late 70s, it was my 'poor man's Sub' as I couldn't then aspire to the real thing - loved it at the time though!
Very few models in the current range really do it for me, although there are one or two classy looking pieces (PeterM's Kinetic above, for one). IMHO a lot of the diver/tool styles just lack subtlety, and have too much of a sameness about the design. Can't argue about their obvious quality and VFM though!
i love the old divers 6105,6309 etc,not so keen on some of the later designs, the exceptions being the OM and the GS range.
Nope, but a nice bellmatic may well find its way into the collection.
none at th emoment, but i am thinking of getting a custom mod from yobokies.. it's interesting that such a modestly priced watch can be customised to look so cool..
erhmm
ug :)
my trusty modded 6309 worn everyday, now with sand blasted case and domed plastic crystal, on a nato of course ,although i fitted fixed bars so no choice lol, but love nato's so all good.

3 Sporturas and a "5". Love them, great value for money.
Still no seiko, but a day maybe...
Yeah seiko five here as my beater good reliable watch
Ive got two Arctura's, fantastic watches. One was given to me by my brother (damaged strap) and the other I brought off fleabay for £45 and I wear it daily, cant fault it.
I bought one of the alpinists from seiya.. not really getting on with it, soon to be flipped!
Here's a picture, hopefully it works :)
Never really thought of one before joining here.
What kind of watches do they do best?
No, but I have a very specific Spring Drive in mind.
what do you want? They do it all best really. cheap tacky low end, odd ball, vfm beaters, hardcore divers, tasty high end too.Originally Posted by crapweed

I own a SKX009J and would gladly own more and in preference to Rolex, Panerai and Breitling.
Three, at the last count. One quartz chrono, which was my everyday watch for ages, a 5 diver and a Black Monster. The latter, in my opinion, is one of the best value for money watches that you can buy.
I'll do a proper intro and pics at some point.

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
Four, all divers. Generally they offer superb value for money,IMHO. Recently got a SBDC003 direct from Seiya and it is excellent. I just wish that some of the Japan-only models were available here.
I don't own a Seiko currently, but I've lost count of the amount I have owned over the years. :)
Seven at the last count, both vintage and modern quartz and auto.
Great VFM and in-house movements. :)
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
my first to be proud on was my Seiko diver , bought in july 1974 from my savings and a surplus for my birthday. I still have the watch and purchase bill/ guarantee booklet. As with yours: wind and run........Originally Posted by dizz
My first Seiko was a chronograph alarm model that had a bit of a sweep action on the centre seconds when timing. It was a very sleek sporty design and I'm gutted I could never get it to fit comfortably on my wrist. The bracelet design meant the end links never sat flush against my wrists - always sticking out over the side and looked a tad silly. I gave it to my father for a while but eventually sold it for a ridiculous £50.
Then last year for my 25th birthday my father bought me a Seiko 5 Sports 38mm http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/user_images/3 ... -23BOB.jpg At first I was a little under whelmed (spoilt huh  ) but rather quickly I warmed to it. The size is perfect, I used to only be interested in 42mm+ sized watches, but this is ideal to wear to work under a cuff. I love how the day wheel changes colour over the weekend and find it a very comfortable and well built watch. I've actually had more comments on this than my Swiss :D
I have probably around 25 to 30 Seiko's though staying of the forums for the last few months has curbed the spending habit, though I seem to be collecting guitars at the moment!!
Never have & never will - just do not get them I'm afraid.
TTPS
I have 13 seikos, but for those that "don't get Seikos" try this (borrowed pic ): Flightmaster Auto, possibly the best watch ever made
Down to less than 50 now but then another comes along. :)
This evening I looked at the lovely old clock in the hall and realized that it's a Seiko quartz. So,that's two Seiko time pieces in the house.
I dont own one and they dont really do it for me (although Tag does, so im sure it doesnt say a great deal about me  )
Maybe ill come to appreciate Seiko on my adventures here :P
I'm in the hunt for one of these right now... :DOriginally Posted by chrisb

Orange and Black Monsters - cheap and cheerful, the Orange in particular is a lot of fun....
Hey, you've got a good memory! On the tool watch chrono issue... almost against my will I have become a complete addict. Strange how these things happen... :lol:Originally Posted by SternG
