Yep :albino:
I have 4 cars, Ford Capri 2.8i, Mercedes 200TE Estate(W124, which was the next best design after the Panzer I believe), Mercedes E240(W210) and a Porsche 968(CS suspension).
I have a Mercedes SLK Chronograph.
also Porsche Design 25th Anniversary(the Top Gun watch)
So a couple of my watches do 'sort of' match my cars.
Yep :albino:
Porsche 356 cabriolet.... Any vntage rolex. ... Fair match I guess
My car's do tend to match my watches.
I tend to go for things which are underrated to those not in the know,
So recent cars include, BMW e36 328i Touring x2, Mazda Mx5, x2.
Watches include SBIII, Hamilton Khaki, & next will be a Seiko Diver.
Wonder what he wears ? :D
Platinum Day-Date Presidential and a "Gentleman's Conveyance"...
(Sadly watch now on another's wrist, but the Silver Lady is still in the stable..!)
8)
Lotus Elise S2 111S - Well engineered, not commonplace, form & function, lightweight, fast.
Omega Planet Ocean - Well engineered, not commonplace, form & function, heavy, not too fast or too slow! ;)
Cars matching watches? What a load of nonsense!
How do my Nissan Terrano and Speedie Pro go together? Nissan have probably had a hand in getting something to the moon, but my Speedie is useless at towing a caravan....
Sayiing that, there's plenty of wabi on the terrano, and I love a well worn and beat-up watch...
Still think it's nonsense though
Beach buggy, bright orange, hardly ever see another one.
PRS3-LE, bright orange minute hand, hardly ever see another one.
Super Avenger with a 3 Series (yawn) which in my opinion is too much watch for the car.
I think my Longines Hydroconquest is more fitting
I love cars and watches, but find when the two combine (in branded watches, and to an extent branded clocks in cars) it is a bit naff.
This car.......Porsche 993TT
with this watch............
...........both German I guess....Can't think of anything else, does it count? (warning...pictures above, not to scale!!)
When driving this
I tend to wear one of these
NO...................
Watch - Rolex - Reliable
Motor - Discovery 3 - Unreliable!!
But I love them both.

Perhaps it would be more useful to ask what shoes do you wear with what watch :D

Can't seem to find a matching watch for my Bond Bug :D
Cheers,
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Hmm. My thread from Dec 2009 suddenly brought back to life :?
My point last year was, i could see broad similarities in my watches and car.
Panerai = big and chunky
BMW X5 = equally big and chunky
No science, deep thought or tenuous connections required, just an off the cuff thought some (read long) time ago now
3er here also - a car so crushingly competent and - thanks to RWD and a fair amount of -ve camber - good fun to drive, that it drives some folks livid. Well, no-one said the human being was rational, and I agree :)Originally Posted by Tourbillon
Which is why I don't own the Omega and Apple products to go with it - I'm not rational enough either. The last watch I had on while in the car was home-made...
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
Despite having a classic early 70's Heuer Carrera I have found my Oysterquartz is my lucky watch :D . Wore it to look at a P38 Range Rover diesel that looked like a steal and I believe at £3K was, decided it must be lucky so wore it yesterday for my ARDS test which I passed with flying colours. Every time I take to the track now will be with the Oysterquartz on my wrist.

But the service intervals are better on the watch ............the engines are the same size
My watches are Swiss and 2 of my cars are German. The other car is French and so I would say there are some links there as the watch makers would speak German or French.
Peter
I bought a white M3 a few months ago -
And then bought a white face Daytona -
Make of that what you will
and the office desk...........
Yes, I'm a wanker :D
[s:2814f1cv][/s:2814f1cv]That is a truly gorgeous car. What year and model is it? Are they painful to drive and maintain? I would love to have a classic Porsche!Originally Posted by Bootsy

we seem to have a few threads running like this on the various sub forums, watch + car...seems a popular question....
I thought Rolex + Porsche was the default choice for many ? ;)
im driving an Aston Martin and wear IWC 3706 or 1970 Zenith...discreet, nothing too flashy ;)
Love the collection and yes maybe a Smart car or IQ would be a better match,Originally Posted by morgandk

Mini Clubman and numerous (150+) 90% are pre 1990.
:?
So no my watch do not match either.
Simon
I have a VW Touran 2.0D for everyday commute etc.. and the Beemer for jolly weekend jaunts, wife and 2 quids can fit in nice, thats why I am after a Z4 M coupe :D Watch wise, they rotate so fast the cars can't keep up
Well my watches are Rolex Sub 16610, Omega Bond Seamaster GMT and Omegas Mid Size Black Quartz
Car : Audi A3 Sportback, with a few options ticked (Read alot of options ticked)
Also drive my mums Fabia vRS when I she needs running into town etc!
So I am not sure, do they match my watches?
Chris
My watch is an XL Omega PO and my cars are an MX5 that's worth less than the PO, an 04 plate Megane Scenic and a T plate Megane Scenic. So no, my watch does not match my cars.
well I have been known to team this......
with this
And this
80's tastic....
An Aston? Discreet? Ha ha ha :DOriginally Posted by bogie
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
Newer Porsches and Rolex/Panerai maybe...
Classic Porsche fanatics tend to like Heuers, PD Orfinas and funky 70s Chrono IMO
To answer the earlier question about running an old 911. Buy a good one and maintenance is not too bad.
Buy a dog and start digging your money pit now!
Always happy to offer advise but the best places to learn is on the forum over at http://www.ddk-online.com
Some fantastic cars and watches
I love the old Porsches and the 993! Bentley would be perfect but ... along with reducing the watch collection - I am contemplating buying a car that does more than 50mpg - the cost of fuel is more outrageous than the servicing of a large watch collection!
I need to down size in virtually every area - new mantra - less is more - I wonder how long it will last :)
It's just a matter of time...

Rolex and Porsche to me are such similar 'brands' with such similar beliefs, engineering quality, strategy and marketing its quite scary.
Admittedly most of their newer stuff is a bit pants

Hmmm, A tough one to decipher...If my watch/car compliment each other, I guess to myself they do, might not be the easiest one to explain though lol :D
Car: 1999 Honda Integra Type R (photo shoot @ Rockingham for CAR magazine)..
Watch 1: 1968 Rolex Oyster Perpetual
Watch 2: Omega Speedmaster Automatic
That's the horniest watch i have seen for a long time :bounce:

I wish my car could match my watches. My watches are 3k plus and my car is worth around 500 quid. I'm the butt of many a joke with friends
Sold it Chris, saving for the C2S Gen II ( love the LED driving lamps ) may have to be a 2014 retirement gift to self ! :DOriginally Posted by Chris_in_the_UK

The analogy with the engineering ethos is a good one.....
I'd like to see anyone try to hold an outfit on the road with a pint in one hand - spilling the beer would be the least of your worries! Makes a fine shelf for when you've stopped though. :DOriginally Posted by Mike Wood
