    New Seiko Mod

A while ago I picked up this very sad Seiko 5 from a local Op shop for $5:

After a bit of TLC, new hands and dial from Noah (the dial had to be filed from 28.5mm to 27.5mm - not a fun job) a new crystal kindly donated by Jonathon Koch in the states, a refurbed movement gifted by Dennis L here in Oz and a great Nato from Eddie at Timefactors it has been reborn as this:

    Hope you like it!

I like it a lot - and that Nato matches it very well. Good job.

You've done a great job there - the Nato and handset complement each other really well.

I am so not a fan nf Natos' but that is one great looking watch. Even better when you know where it came from.

I'm thinking of doing something similar to a 6309 diver, it should end up something like this:

    what do you all reckon?

Nice 6309 mod :) If it were my watch though I'd fit a plain chapter ring (or try & get a dial without any minute markers on it) - the almost blak bezel insert makes for an elegant(ish) minimalistic look which I like a lot. Is the Nato used on your first mod (which looks superb by the way :D) not available in 22mm? That colours would suit the diver well I think.

    :)

Thanks, That was just a photoshop mock-up...I've got nearly all the parts to go ahead with this project, including a plain black chapter ring and a black (arabic) day wheel. I'll post shots when it's done!

No, unfortunately not. It's an awesome strap.
Eddie sells them here:http://www.timefactors.com/nato.htm ......scroll to the bottom.

    You could always ask him...

Liking that a lot, well done :)

It's nice to see somebody putting time into transforming an old damaged watch into something which can be proudly worn again.
