Thread: Ideas please for a watch

    Ideas please for a watch

    Budget = approx £400/£500
What I want: White faced watch, smart (possibly a diver, but not sure).
    Must be 2nd Hand

    Ideas so far:

    Fortis B42 Marine master
    Stowa Marine Original

Has anyone else got any recommendations as to which one to get, or any other watch they think I might like.

    Cheers

How about a nice Seiko Alpinist? It is 200m WR and the white dialled model looks superb.

Curve ball here - new, but cheap (and quartz), but classically clean lines... a Mondaine

Glycine are also a good bet, I've got one of these but in black - about £300 new...

Failing that, a Fortis for a more rugged look (not sure your budget will stretch to a B42 though), or Stowa for more classical are both good choices.

Darren beat me to it, was going to suggest the Mondaine myself, but I prefer it with the bracelet.

I just picked up a RADO original auto from the sales forum for under £300.
    Very nice.
Or if you want to make a statement with a big watch I would look at
TW STEEL. I like them anyway, Automatic only of course with 50mm face

    Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.

    Rolex.

Buy a secondhand Rolex Precision and keep it. It'll always be a classic and you'll never regret the buy.

    Chronomaster has several.

somehow i think the rolex is out of my price range, as for the speedbird III i dont like the square hands. I much prefer the SBII's hands. I like the look of all the watches mentioned but i still do not know which one to get. I need something smart and I also need £160 to get myself an expedition watch possibly the suunto core.

Anyone think of any more watches?

    Cheers

What about Dads Rolly, I think he would accept about £400 for it. However, when I get some funds together I will have it, so forget I ever mentioned it. Get the Suunto

Fortis Marinemaster has already been suggested, but Fortis also did nice white faced pilots watches. Hans (9:59) had 2 for sale on the SC only recently.
